Is the Kamala Harris Democratic Nomination a "Coup" as Trump Indicates?

  1. 1. Is the Kamala Harris Democratic Nomination a "Coup" as Trump Indicates?

    • Yes. Biden was constitutionally nominated and, for all practical purposes, forced to resign after he won. Harris' nomination violates the Constitution and undermines democratic principles.

    • No. The Democrats can choose their own nominee however they want.

It's a dead horse.  Now we are talking about the Harris nomination.  Pushing Biden out was sort of a mini coup after his horrible debate (while likely sick with covid).  His nomination was not contested and thus there was no other primary results to fall back on.  In this situation, Harris made for the logical front runner and for the sake of unity and short notice, no one else threw their hat in the ring.  That was well within the rules.  Biden's delegates did become free agents, but with no one else running they pushed their support to Harris.  Again, all well within the rules.  The only ones calling sour grapes are Republicans hoping to sow chaos within the Democratic Party ranks.  Maybe they should look at their own chaotic ticket with the faux hillbilly and the increasingly decrypt ornage guy.

Are you sure about the sour grapes. You have a good number of Biden supporters that say otherwise. You also have a good number of independents and Democrats that don't want a far-left leaning person in the White House again.

And by virtue of the fact that trump refused to scede peacefully, that alone makes Harris a better candidate.

When was the war?  I missed it.

No, you don't remember right.  Bernie never had more delegates than Clinton in 2016.  It was just sour grapes and revisionist history.  And by virtue of the fact that trump refused to scede peacefully, that alone makes Harris a better candidate.  2024 was an uncontested primary, so the results of the 2020 nomination hold no value today.

i stand corrected...

in many cases he had more votes

It’s not illegal.   It’s definitely not democratic.  You’ll see both parties move more away from what the people want if something does not stop this madness.  The last 3/4/5 elections have been crazy.  And every one Frazier than the last.    I’m not fixing that typo.

everyone thinks the other party is the devil.  My team isn’t bad.  If that doesn’t resolve itself the left will get far more left…. And the right will get far more right.

the real issue is 83-98% of politicians are scum bags.  In all parties.  Power hungry crazies who will ruin things.

we need term limits state local federal govt.

Berny certainly had more popular votes and earned delegates than kamela has.   Though primary election selection of presidential candidates is relatively new, only really coming into vogue after WWII, the only logic for what the dimocrats have done this year is either they know they can’t win and nobody else wants to be the loser, or they have the cheating so ensconced that the same folks will still be running things that are now.  Remember:  They didn’t fail to protect him, they failed to kill him.

They speddonked Bernie and rfk jr last few elections.   Had to have Hillary…….    Had to not have rfk jr etc…..   To pretend the people are voting/choosing for the presidential candidate on that side of the ticket had been bonkers for about 8-10 years now.

She can’t be the best the left has to offer.   They can’t be happy with her.  Secretly I think they worry in their basement Trump gonna eat their lunch again.

I swear to God. If Trump said that 2+2 = 5, a good 2/3 of his drivelling minions would believe him.

And if Harris said it a good 2/3 of her driveling minions would believe she meant something else and that math is somehow racist.

Harris has WAY more credibility. Trump makes dozens of blatant lies that are easily refutable every single speech. It isn't even close.

Wow. I hadn't looked at this in a while. 42% think it was a coup. And what's the evidence that Biden was forced to step down again?

Did you forget the several times he said, and I quote " there is one way and ONLT ONE WAY I will step down and that is if God all mighty comes down and tells me to step down". This was when he was interviewed and pressed for an answer. I'm pretty sure God didn't visit Joe.

Yah. I recall that. It is called changing your mind. Besides, what do you expect him to do? Say "well, they bring up a good point so I'm thinking about stepping down. We'll see...." That's a suicide mission right there so he really had no choice to be 100% committed until he stepped down.

RV - it is your thesis that he voluntarily stepped down?  He was the best, he was at the top of his game, he was running circles around everyone.  Why would he voluntarily step down if he was that spritely?

These articles say he was forced out.   You might want to use some critical thinking skills rather than take what is given you as truth.   You must have been gobsmacked when he quit because he was so physically and mentally fit he was a wonder if you listened to all the synchophants that lied to all of us.   But they said it.   So it must be true right?

You need to read your own articles. It's clear that he was "pressured," which we all experience in all areas of our lives, and acting in response to the pressure from others is often appropriate (but sometimes it isn't). People in his own party can say what they want, even in public. There's nothing illegal, against the rules, or even immoral about that. In fact, I think more people need to speak out against their own party like Nancy Pelosi did in this case and Adam Kinzinger did against Donald Trump.

You know what's the funniest thing? Republicans were all saying that Biden was completely incompetent and shouldn't be a frontrunner for President. However, then they complain when he steps down and gets replaced by the Democrat Party.

You seriously can't make this stuff up. I think we're living in a matrix.
