They're all failures as coaches - and BTW they were only mediocre at best when they were competing (in both folk and freestyle). Somebody needs to clean house! But Varner should have won the Hodge Time to break up the NLWC. Taylor was first defector. I bet several more retire or go their own ways after the Olympics. It will only be Cael, Cody, Casey and Varner left. Edited August 9, 2024 by Hilton Head Joe
pawrestler Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Dang, that sucks (he says for like the 5th time this session)

Olympic Gold is the pinnacle of the sport, and it's tempting to rest on your laurels when you win it. Some, like JB, Kyle and Taylor, come back for more. Others, like Cael, Cejudo and Gable (both of 'em), are satisfied, and hang it up. As Taylor recently admitted, it is really hard to keep yourself motivated after achieving his lifelong goal. But what you pretty much NEVER see is someone as young as Lee and Brooks hang it up after earning an Olympic medal but not a gold one. Usually it just makes them hungrier. Here's to hoping that getting a taste their goal, but falling slightly short, means we get to see another 4 more years (at least) of them working to get even better and mowing over their international competition. That's all good in theory but the problem is Lee's knees, who knows if they last for another cycle. Unfortunately this could have been his best chance at an Olympic Gold
Hilton Head Joe Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 The only way the NLWC saves their skin is if old man Snyder pulls it out! The future of the NLWC sits on Snyder's back!
