Fair. But the 'well regulated militia' is specific and is before 'shall not be infringed'. So you need to fall within the description of the first thing before you get the privilege of the second thing. Sorry if you might not agree to that but that's how its written. Textualists/originalists must agree unless they just lie to see things the way they want to anyway. Which is pretty much what an originalist/textualist does.

How many gun owners are in a 'well regulated militia'? Probably not many.

What is a 'well regulated militia'? Probably a group people that get together to train with their weapons to aid in the defense of the state/country. Also, there is probably a list of who belongs to this group.

Where are those groups?

Heller: the 2nd amendment protects an individuals right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes.

As a former wrestler and coach, it isn't over until the fat lady sings. Never underestimate your opponent. Though Trump is favored right now the republicans can screw this up. The democrats will not go down easy. Yes, Kamala has a chance to win, and Trump has a chance to lose.

One last thing to keep in mind is that the Dem senate candidates are leading in the polls in most of the swing states. Biden was running far behind the rest of his party. Now that there's a sentient candidate, we might see those polls swing quickly.

Dem Senate candidates are leading in Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, PA, and Nevada.

US v Miller: '39 common to soldier of the day

the 2nd amendment RESTRICTS GOVERNMENT. The technology of the firearm is irrelevant. The restrictions on Govt remain the same. the 2nd was not written to grant permission for citizens to own or bear arms. It forbids GOVT interference in the right to keep and bear arms.

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

@PortaJohn

Senate polls/races are not an indicator on the national race.  Trump will win Ohio handily and Sherrod Brown will win his Ohio Senate race by a few points

Okay, you did Ohio. Trump's lost every other state listed.

If the polls hold its 50 republicans, 47 democrats and 3 toss up. 2 of the toss ups are swing states.

Again Senate races have no influence on the national race and there is no correlation

This is laughably untrue. There was only 1 split ticket result in 2020 (Susan Collins in Maine when Biden won the state) and 0 in 2016.

There is an extreme correlation between senate and national elections.

SCARED TO COMPETE!

It was obvious from the shooting that Trump scares easily.  He jumped right out of his shoes.

Coons is Biden’s lap dog. Of course he’s going to try to spin for Joe’s legacy. History won’t remember it that way.
