Meyer Shapiro and Anthony Knox would like a word.

Not saying some top guys don't ever choose elite schools but the atmosphere is surely noticeably different. I it honestly felt like a middle school dual at this Ivy. Some like Knox are thinking beyond their wrestling careers. But as we are hitting all these schools that really stood out to me.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood your declarative statement "Is this why top guys or even decent guys don't chose elite schools?"

Having been through it with my kid, I would say because wrestling is more important than academia to them. Of course they are 16 and 17 year olds, so their judgement is not always state-of-the-art. Unless your goal is becoming a coach and/or world level competitor I can't really see anyone rationally choosing Rutgers over Princeton or ASU over Stanford - provided you can get in and have offers from both.

I think Blaze is better than anyone is HS and wherever he goes it will be an earthquake. He could be our next Gable, Cael type if he continues to get better. Please for the love of everything that is good anywhere but PSU. 🙂

He's good at holding position in freestyle.

Beyond that and he's only seventeen...:classic_dry:

" 1) He has bonus points in every D1 state match he has wrestled.
2) He has never lost to an Ohio opponent
3) He has never given up an offensive point, in his entire IN SEASON high school career. Not even in his two losses. He lost on escapes and a penalty point.
4) Fargo Champ over a field that included other world champs Bassett and Raney, current #1 national ranked Knox, and #1 Jax Forrest.
5) Cadet World Champion
6) Olympic team member (top 3 at trials)
7) Junior World Team - Bronze
8 Senior WTT Finalist
9) Beat 3 former D1 NCAA Champs and 2 other NCAA finalists
10) in the same calendar year, beat #1 ranked Lilledahl, #1 ranked Knox, and #1 ranked Forrest."

they all need to think about life after wrestling / The NCAA's longstanding branding tag line emphasizes that most of the nearly 500,000 college athletes will go pro in something other than sports.

Agreed. No guarantees...

I was actually kidding as that resume is off the charts in achievements that illustrate his readiness for high level NCAA accomplishment.

What’s the smoke with Vince Bouzakis decommitting from Ohio State? Is this true? If this is true, do you know which schools are after him? If I’m any big school, I would be all in home. Especially people who need a 157/165 like Iowa, Minnesota, and more tbh.

@Husker_Du

I have hear nothing about him decommitting but I know Pitt were in very heavily on both him and Maddox Shaw before they committed to tOSU. However if he does reopen I think Pitt would be underdogs to the Big10 schools after him. Would fit a weight are of need however

Appreciate the response @Husker_Du!  I was going to be surprised if the bigger schools didn’t contact him, especially Iowa because they would have a hole once Caliendo/PK graduate.

Bouzakis is such a great recruit, I feel like that is such a major loss for tOSU. Anyone would be lucky to land him, wish him the best!

Hopefully Iowa is all over him🐤

Blaze to PSU🐾 Congratulations and wish him the best!

but that still leaves 3 other big recruits on the Big Board. Harvey Ludington, Jude Correa, and Vince Bouzakis. Which is crazy because they were all committed to some big schools.

@Husker_Du do you know where they are leaning or who is reaching out? These are major recruits that can help boost any program! Excited for what’s to come
