We think any of those 3 NDSU transfers can make some noise for NIU?

If three athletes were willing to follow Midkiff, probably a good sign that he's well respected by his wrestlers.

Mooberry in particular should start at 197 from day one.  Dawson will have some competition at heavy.  Johnson also has a decent chance at starting at 165.  Three starters from another program would be a lot

Drake Rhodes joins the Siebrechts and Glazier over to SDSU.

I was waiting for this to be officially announced. All good gets for my jackrabbits. I expect Cobe, Drake and Glazier to start. Cade will throw his hat in the ring at 149 but I am not sure if he will win the spot. Certainly won't be favored to win that spot if Alek Martin goes (which is still up in the air as far as I know).

Buffalo managed to retain 7 out of their 15(!) wrestlers that entered the portal after Stutzman was unceremoniously fired.

This includes reversing the decisions of Max Elton and Sam Ewing who had previously agreed to transfer to Lock Haven and Nebraska, respectively.

Good work by Donnie Vinson.

8 of them were room guys and not going to start; but to say the least, I’m super excited to see how they excel at their new schools! Especially Cobe, Bretli, and Joel 💪

Of course eight of them were room guys.  They have transfers that are likely to earn the nod at 125, 141, 149, 157, 165 and 197.  None of them were going to start at their weights because of that.

All ten may start this year for the respective schools.  That does say something for the depth that was at Iowa, but also for the loyalty that the coaching staff has towards the product they were trying to build before NIL/Portal days.  It is admitting that they essentially suck at development.

Yeah, I understand but that has happened at a lot of the top five programs. Look at Penn St., Michigan, and OkieSt.

Penn State got Mesenbrink and clearly had Facundo and Barraclough there. Both who showed a loyalty to the program and could easily start at any program. They also brought in Greg K when they had Seth Nevills. In which both Barraclough and Nevills both eventually transferred out. I feel like Beard transferring out was a little different because it is said that Max Dean came to PennSt. Without being recruited. Also, they brought in Aaron N. And Bernie. Some can argues the staff’s loyalty as well.

Michigan brought in 5 transfers last year. DeAugustino, Cannon, Gomez, Griffith, and Davidson. They had room guys who could fill those voids. Fidel Mayora could’ve filled 149 and he has been extremely loyal to the Wolverines and they brought in Gomez second semester. They also had a slew of people who could man 125-141 and brought those same transfers. Michigan has had a few people transfer out last year such as Lamer and Kurt Mchenry…You can argue the loyalty of the staff here as well.

Same with Okie St (not going to write a big passage about this as well).

Everyone is playing the same game. The narrative changes based off of the university lol; but we can’t act like other universities are not doing the same. Of course loyalty is something to be questioned but it seems like a lot of bigger universities will put out the best of the product even if that means they will get transfers.

Didn’t even include IowaSt; but them as well. You get the idea, major universities have been doing the same. And you can have the same comment for them all and questioning their loyalty.

There are differences between what Iowa is doing and what Michigan, Penn State, Oklahoma State, and Iowa State did.  From everything that is said from these four compared to Iowa, Iowa is the only one where the coaches are playing the "I don't know what's happening" game.  Michigan, Penn State, and Iowa State were transparent.  Oklahoma State has a new coaching staff and turnover should be expected.

Loyalty should go hand-in-hand with honesty.  The Brands bros have been dishonest through this whole process, blatantly lying to families and former wrestlers (who transferred out due to the lying).

OSU kicked him out there was no transfer.  You could say he transfered from Payne County OK court to Iowa then via birds to CSUB.  Its not my fault you formated the cells to small.  😉

Like I said he was kicked out/dismissed, didn't transfer out.

AJ Ferrari has officially entered the transfer portal. The 197 lbs 2021 NCAA champion was recently dismissed from the Oklahoma State wrestling team amid a legal investigation for sexual assault.
