If I remember correctly, Brayton Lee was a pre-season #1 on some rankings.

That may be true but it was only the case because most rankers were assuming that Quincy Monday was moving up to 165.  Monday confirmed he was staying at 157 prior to the beginning of the season and he was the obvious choice as the #1 guy for 157.  I do not know if the various rankers updated their preseason rankings with that info but they should have.

Matthews is still undefeated on the season.

Exhibition matches don't count towards his record.

So is Spencer Lee  😆.    He will remain so for quite some time.

Huh?  Who said otherwise?

You remember correctly. Both WIN and Intermat had him #1 in their pre-season rankings.

Was Monday in those 157 rankings or was he ranked at 165 at that time?

He was listed at 165 at the time by all four services. @lu1979 describes it correctly above. All four services moved Monday to 157 for their second set of rankings at which point Intermat and Flo had Monday at #1 (not sure where WIN had him ranked).

The official count has caught up with the unofficial count.

Five preseason #1's have fallen (Cole Matthews, Yianni Diakomihalis, Will Lewan/Brayton Lee, Aaron Brooks, Max Dean, Cohlton Schultz).

But wait, there is more.

Make fun of Wrestlestat all you want, but only three of their preseason #1's have taken an L. They had Austin O'Connor at #1 in 157 (though he has dropped to #3) and Mason Parris in 285.

But wait, there is even more more. When I downloaded the Wrestlestat data on 10/27 they had O'Connor at an Elo of 1570.43. They now say his preseason Elo was 1553.03 for a #2 ranking. Ahh, data. It can be so slippery.

I imagine there has been a slight tweak in the formula and the new DL of then references what it would have been using this new one.
