Military veterans with NCAA titles?

I know a number of Veterans of military service won NCAA titles in the years after WWII.

How about since then? Especially since Vietnam to our current teams.

Really? (I know who's talking here so I probably shouldn't bother) He didn't enlist until AFTER PSU. He Mormon missioned after HS prior to PSU.

OP asked about military veterans who won NCAA titles.  He didn't specify that they had to be enlisted before winning the title.

By saying "veterans of military service won" it is reasonable to assume the order of operations is veteran first, followed by title, rather than the other way around. However, the title could be read oppositely.

OP can clarify but I doubt he intended to exclusively ask about NCAA champs who served BEFORE winning a title.  Why would that matter?

Indeed it is semantics. But you say it dismissively. Semantics is another way of saying words have meanings.

So if the OP had asked about "U.S. Presidents who won spelling bees" you would only list people who were president first before winning a spelling bee?

Cinneboy - semantica are important. Communication relys on clarity. That you are backwards may be easily explaned and some even  tolerate it. Just as some tolerate you being a welsher when betting.

Do some checking and work on your communication skills. Pay attention to how posts are worded and you will see reality. Double check when capitol letters are used as well. Can make a big difference. As in helping your Unele Jack off a horse compared to helping your uncle jack off a horse.

So you are saying you only wanted to ask about NCAA champs that were veterans BEFORE winning NCAA titles?  If so, you need to correct a few other posters in this thread...because they are also citing wrestlers who served AFTER winning NCAA titles.

I only see 3 other names mentioned. Koll- WWII before winning (although OP said or implied not including WWII vets), Ruth- service after Lehigh but before winning titles at OK, Jones- service before college. So who are these proud few others that screwed this up?

You state "Communication relys [sic] on clarity" - now let me point out (in bold) all the grammatical and spelling mistakes you've made while arguing the importance of semantics and clarity in communication.  Calling someone stupid when you made close to a dozen spelling and grammatical mistakes in typing out 2 paragraphs is rich.

Jones was very good.  I was ahead of him at the Sun Devil Open Finals with less than 30 sec left and he hit me with a mind-boggling fast double leg TD to win the match.  Very good person too.  Wish he could've lasted much longer as the Eastern Michigan coach.
