curious... havn't seen a rule book in years... what does it say specifically about this ride...

and again, ipose the question.. how a hand grasping the ankle a five count. but sitting on the ankle not?

It is possible to work a turn with the ankle hook.  Holding an ankle with your hands it is not.  End of that silly question.

But we also really want consistency.

uh.....we have consistency.........consistently BAD non calls for stalling. "back in the day" stalling was actually called when it occurred. which wasn't all that often because wrestlers knew they would be called.

Grabbing the ankle can be used as a breakdown.

As someone said earlier, the act of sitting on the ankle isn’t necessarily stalling.  It’s staying there and not doing anything with it that is.  I’d be in favor of adding it to the 5 count list, but we probably don’t want to have and excessive amount of those situations

Just watched Iowa’s Bennet clearly and obviously drag Army’s Sanchez OOB while riding on top.  Called action by ref.  B S

Bennett drove the action OOB to avoid a potential scoring action. Text book stalling.

CALL IT!

The “action or stall” call is only in neutral.  But I wouldn’t mind guys being hit for stalling on top for just driving guys out of bounds.

That one was a screenshot in an article, but hear is Max Dean scooping Jacob Warner's ankle then reaching back for the bow

that is not at all similar to the situation we are complaining about, where the top guy sits on the ankle typically with the bottom guy on his hands and knees
