This should happen for Burwick, Morton and Emerson. It is not a part of the team scoring. I also believe the typically have one of these when only 8 spots are allocated as well. I think that one potential criteria for getting a wild card is finishing one place below the automatic allocation. Wilson could be involved in such a scenario if he loses in this next session. Meaning if your conference had 8 allocations and you were the 9th or if it had 10 allocations and you were the 11th or 5 allocations and you were the 6th, etc. Meaning whatever your conference has for allocations, they must place at least one (1) spot higher. Think of it as a winner takes all. 1st of that bracket would be the 9th placer. If the weight allocated 9, then they will have a 'true 3rd(10th) match from that bracket's 2nd(10th) and 3rd(11th) so long as the 2nd(10th) and the 3rd(11th) did not face each other in that specific '9th place' bracket.
