In Ann Arbor for the big tens and apparently almost all of the city is without power. Does anyone know the status of the arena? Will this cause any delay in the action?

Southeast Michigan bore the brunt of another significant winter storm Friday that brought heavy snow and high winds, leaving utility companies scrambling to restore electricity to more than 236,000 people and Detroit Metro Airport temporarily closed.

The DTE Energy outage map showed more than 210,000 customers without power at 11:45 p.m., while nearly 91% of its customers were unaffected. Consumers Energy reported more than 26,000 customers without power; 98% of its customers had not been impacted, according to its outage map.

The outages follow a pair of ice storms since last week that knocked out power for more than 600,000 customers.

On Friday evening, DTE Energy issued a statement that said last week's ice storm and the current storm was hampering its restoration efforts.

"The weight of the precipitation on trees and branches – many that were previously weakened during the ice storm – caused many to fall on our power lines, resulting in power outages," the statement said.

"DTE’s storm response team, which includes more than 4,000 field workers, is assessing the damage and beginning restoration efforts; however, the hazardous road conditions are slowing the pace of that work. We understand the frustration customers may have with the loss of power tonight, particularly those who were impacted by the historic ice storm last week. That’s why we remain laser-focused on restoring power to all customers as quickly and safely as possible. We will continue working around-the-clock to restore customers impacted by this most recent severe weather system."

Consumers Energy didn't provide any comment Friday.

As the lights vanished for some residents, others faced travel woes.

FlightAware.com listed 156 delays and 182 flight cancellations late Friday at Detroit Metro Airport.

DTW officials reported on Twitter that the Romulus site was temporarily closed due to the rapidly deteriorating weather conditions.

I think they will cancel the tournament and then cancel NCAAs because there is no time to reschedule everything. Give everyone in the top 30 AA status and give next year's freshmen an extra year of eligibility.

But in all seriousness, aren't there warmer places in Big 10 country to host the tournament?

I was hoping it was a Wisconsin Badger, but the suspect was caught on camera.

Is that the real Pikachu?  Did Spencer Lee let him go?  Wasn't he supposed to catch them all?
