I guess the russian federation is in turmoil (I'm a genius), Saduleav running around doing exhibitions is not very Russian feeling.

I think Yaz may clap his cheeks at worlds.

I don’t know what the kids call clapping cheeks these days but it’s worth a Google

The guy who was teched by Stephen Buchanon?

Not a great look but he went on to beat Azarpira who just dominated Asians and beat Yoshida so I think he may be back in form. Saddy cakes has just not looked good for pretty much the entirety of the year or rather good by his standards a bad version of himself is probably still 50/50 or better with everyone.

97kg is really weird, by accolades alone it may be the best field ever at the world championships however aside from Snyder who has a 10-4 loss to Russia's 3 this year its hard to know if anyone is at or around their best form ever.

Is it possible the Azapira win was by "big brother factor?"

Very possible, I think that is absolutely a thing but perhaps even more so in Iran where a guy like Yazdani is probably the equivalent of like a A list celebrity here.
