Criticism of Israel has picked up in the last few years because 10/7 and the aftermath put more eyes on the Israel/Palestine conflict.  10/7 was a terrible terrorist attack and Israel was well within their right to attack back.  But after a year+ (by which time Trump came into office), a lot of people started realizing Israel may have been going overboard.  But there are AIPAC shills and Israel critics on both side of the aisle.
