was so close to making it 158-1

I'm forgetting the details...how close was he to making it 158-1? For some reason I remember Vertus Jones being closest to giving Cael an L, not Cormier (and not the NCAA finals match for Jones, but another time they wrestled).

You're right.  DC was down 5-4 with about :40 seconds left.  He cut Cael and just absolutely stopped wrestling.  Just a bad look on his part. Absolute mental lapse.

The closest match Cael had in college was Damion Hahn right out of high school.  4-3 win at the UN Omaha tournament I believe.  Many long-time fans of the sport will tell you that Hahn is STILL the best upper weight HS wrestler ever, particularly on his feet.  A guy who won 2x NCAA championships and people will say that was a disappointment considering how awesome he was coming out of HS.  He had to be struggling making 184.

Also, I thought that Coon had the best hit list of a non-champ (Nelson, Gwiz, Snyder) until I saw Sebastian Rivera's resume.  I don't know how you could argue with actual data that Seabass is not the best non-champ.  Unreal.

Cael also had a one pointer with Vertus Jones. 6-5

and agreed on everything about Hahn

Since Trenge comes up in this topic every time any chance either @Husker_Du or @Jon_Kozak can get the rights to Veritas so we can watch the best wrestling docu of all time on Intermat or Flo.  Can't find it anywhere

Interesting and share if you get anywhere, never saw it but heard it was great and it was seemingly no where to be found

Is that the movie where Trenge taps the tattoo on his leg?

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

Lance Palmer (tOSU): 4, 8, 4, 2

Jake Percival (Ohio): 4, 8, 4, 2

Daton Fix (OKST): 4x finalist

Myles Amine (UM): 4, 3, 3, 3, 2 (only 5 timer I could find)

Montel Marion (IOWA): 2, 4, 2, 6

Yeppers.  We also had Cory Cooperman on MTV True Life about weight cutting.  It was high times for Lehigh
