  1. Jan 30 2026, beat Mirasola at BJC 2-1. Almost 99% positive he did a split after the match as the dual had ended.
  2. Ed Michael, 73-74 season
  3. I thought of 2 more coaches who I believe were let go for under performance, both from the same institution. Jim Beichner and John Stutzman, both from Buffalo. As I heard from one alumni, they did the least with the most resources.
  4. As a side topic off of this..... Who is more likely to get a HC job first, Bryan Snyder or J Jaggers?
  5. Another that comes to mind is Barry Davis at Wisconsin. Was it his choice to leave or was he relieved of his duties?
  6. Wasn't J Robinson let go at Minnesota and CD Mock at UNC. Those 2 come to mind as being most recent.
  7. Great info. I am not an tOSU fan, but the history of any program is always intriguing. Thank you for doing this.
  8. Throwing this one out there, how hot is the seat of Zeke Jones out at AZST?
  9. What coaches do you believe are on the hot seat going into this season? Names typically thrown around: Bono (Wisc) Brands (Iowa) Who else do you got on the list?
  10. If you analyze this topic by conferences, it only makes sense that the Big 10, Big 12, and ACC make more schools have wrestling. Big 10, 4 schools would add - USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington Big 12, 12 schools would add if all, so half would be great - BYU, Texas Tech, Utah, Baylor, Arizona, Houston, Cincinnati, UCF, Kansas St, Colorado, Kansas, TCU. My picks here would be Arizona, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, Colorado, and Kansas St. I know it is only 5, but they are either in a location with a natural rival or close proximity to opponents to minimize travel. ACC, 11 schools if all, 5 would be great - BC, Cal, Clemson, FSU, GT, Louisville, Miami, ND (other than football, they are an ACC member), SMU, Syracuse, Wake Forest. My picks here would be Cal, GT, Louisville, ND, Syracuse, and WF (yes another Div 1 program in the state of NC) Again, natural rivalries and proximity to opponents would make it easy for them to sponsor programs and keep costs down. So, in my warped mind, 15 new/revived programs added into the mix.
  11. I know we have had this discussion many times, but as colleges are aligning with new conferences, who should start/restart programs in the following regions: Northeast Southeast Central Northwest Southwest My suggestions would be NE - Syracuse, in the ACC now and it would provide more exposure and earning opportunities. Not to mention the local CC in Syracuse just started men's and women's programs. So that would help feed. SE - Staying in the ACC, Clemson. Helping to grow college wrestling in the south would be vital. They have had success many years ago, a restart could be beneficial and help grow a conference that has been doing well as of late. Central - Colorado, state rich in wrestling. Now in the Big XII, they can have the benefit or more revenue sharing and have matches with schools much closer. SW - Arizona, keep the rivalry with ASU going in another sport. They would be full members of the Big XII and could compete for recruits on the west coast NW - Oregon (I am dreaming, I know). They are now Big 10, that is huge for revenue generating and TV exposure. In state rivalry with ORST and just imagine the mats and uniforms they would come up with.
  12. Jenkins pinning Taylor in the finals. Realbuto (Cornell) v Miller (Kent St) -- marathon match where they couldn't get the score right and it was still wrong at the end.
  13. The first names that came to mind when I was reading this topic immediately were Mike Evans and Jacob Warner of Iowa. They were AAs whose matches were painful to watch because of how boring they were.
  14. To be honest, 23 and 24, when they had 5 each, where was the event hosted. It was at Penn St. If he did not have all those, then what would the perception had been to host and not have many participants. Outside of the 3 years you listed, only 2017 had 3, every other one since 2013 was either 0 or 1 (David Taylor in 2013, all 0s otherwise).
  15. I am not going to disagree with you. As was stated earlier, PSU wrestlers do not usually participate in this event. And then many top matchups would happen later in the year in the Big 10 conf, either through dual or the tournament. If they wrestle at the all-star, then they may avoid in the dual and diminish the conference dual. Either way, figure a way to make it interesting and not compromise duals later on. My earlier suggestion was just a way to get a conversation started on developing a lineup.
