solid hand fight from both… Otto gets a drag and behind but Sweden scrambles out of it gets the position on Otto but Otto returns the favor… nice by both…

SWE put down and Otto gets a couple of low guys but can’t get the lift… 5-0

couple of more drags and almost gets the angle but SWE not a punk…

early second another drag by Otto and gets behind but they call something… put Otto down and SWE goes reverse lift and Otto floats his hip and stands up out of it… 5-1

more tough hand fight several drags by Otto one he gets the TD but they white paddle it again…

X getting handled fairly easy in his bronze match...

not able to pay much attention with stupid work going on, but 5-1 LAT mid way through second...

Otto and Sweden for bronze...

otto gets a step out early... gets him put down and then rolls up for 2 guts... 6-0 otto and everything seems to be in order... that is the way it ends at the break...

good hand fight at the start of the second... Otto has trained with the sweish national teams seveeral times...

they put otto down in the second... 6-1

nothing happening at all for SWE... can not even budge him for a while... then all of sudden otto is getting rolled up twice and then finally stops the action... SWE relaxes a bit on top... otto scrambles out and then kinda bum rushes him for a TD... 805

insta brick but no whistle so no stop in the action... 9-5 with about 1:30...

back on the feet and otto drags catches the hip secures the TD and then side lifts belly to belly high leg for 4... 15-5 tech...

got my heart rate up a bit there for a second or two...

obviously, a bit disappointing not to be in the finals, but, it is another international senior level medal and they do not give those away at greco tourneys in europe...

so, 2 Bronze and a Gold is not horrible for US Greco...

it continues the trend lately of actually bringing home medals at every tourney we go to...

Brady Koontz had never had a medal outside of the Americas until he finally got to quit wasting time with leg grabbing and focus purely on greco... he now has 3 medals from Europe and a Senior Pan Am gold in the last 2 years...

same with Schultz... results improved dramatically once he was finally able to quit folk...

anyway...

not much going on until U23 Worlds in Vegas mid october and then Seniors at Kazakhstan directly after...

how did i not know about this?

is this a normal happening or a new thing?

He's previously done it for age level worlds but I think has added Poland because of the healthy Penn St contingent there and the change in qualifier stuff

Don’t need it for most tourneys as UWW arena is very intuitive to follow, but…

Sportzona is kinda rough…

There bout board is nice…

of course the live feed being “restricted” on YouTube by my Canadian overlords made this tourney unnecessarily difficult to watch only one match at a time on the TV with a ridiculous Chromebook from the home schooling days helping out on the left…

just whining…

Didn't think a new thread was needed.

i give a tip of the hat that they actually devoted an entire conversation to greco...

past that, nothing too insightful...

lots of kids wrestled greco and liked it, but, there is just not enough opportunities in this country to continue competing in it viably for any sustained depth nationally... only the ones who are just psychos chase it...

i will say, it was a very valid point made that it is not only a problem of opportunities for the athletes but that there are extremely few opportunities for any coaches to make a living coaching greco in this country...

Plott looked pretty good… definitely improving his body awareness and his defense is way ahead of where it was just a few years ago…

Ended always fire some really nice things, but, just does not have the gas tank to keep up his pace…

The ukranian he teched in the finals has a 16-12 win over Maisuradze this year who has been 5th at worlds the last two years and teched Cardenas in Feb.
