You idiot. You can only hire who applies.

And when you get a minority candidate you’re pushed to hire them.  Because of the target/quota.

Major U.S. companies generally do not maintain mandatory racial hiring quotas, as strict race-based quotas violate federal anti-discrimination laws under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. [1, 2]

The Difference Between Quotas and Targets

Quotas: Strict, fixed numbers or exclusive set-asides reserved for specific racial groups. These are illegal in standard corporate hiring.

Voluntary Targets: Non-binding aspirations or numerical diversity goals tied to representation timelines. [1, 2, 3]

Companies Associated with Diversity Goals

Following the social justice protests of 2020, several large corporations introduced public, voluntary representation goals or "diversity modifiers" linked to executive compensation: [1, 2]

Wells Fargo & Co. and Delta Air Lines: Publicly discussed and adopted specific internal representation benchmarks for leadership and workforce diversity. [1]

IBM: Faced legal scrutiny and criticism over executive compensation tied to diversity metrics, which critics labeled as quota systems. IBM subsequently altered or rolled back some of these policies amid shifting legal standards. [1]

Recent Industry Shifts

Many major corporations—including Meta, Walmart, Amazon, and Target—have scaled back or eliminated explicit diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, diverse slate interviewing requirements, and race-conscious recruitment targets following legal challenges and recent Supreme Court rulings. [1, 2, 3]

American police forces historically operating under federal court orders were legally permitted to use explicit racial and gender hiring quotas for decades.

While the general rule under Title VII prohibits quotas, the federal government carved out a massive exception for law enforcement using consent decrees.

Nope. We've ALWAYS been told to hire the best candidate. Racial or sexual favoritism is 110% illegal.

The Era of "Voluntary" Demographic Targets (2020–2023)

Following the social justice movements of 2020, a vast majority of Fortune 200 companies publicly announced rigid diversity goals. To shield themselves from Title VII lawsuits, they carefully branded these as "aspirational targets" rather than quotas.

McDonald's Corporation (Rank ~150): Announced an official plan to increase underrepresented groups in senior leadership to 35% by 2025.

Target Corporation (Rank ~30): Publicly pledged to increase its number of Black team members across the entire company by 20% over a three-year period.

The Backdoor Enforcement: While not called quotas, these targets became mandatory in practice because Fortune 200 boards began tying up to 10% to 15% of executive cash bonuses directly to meeting these demographic numbers.

I was once was told at a Native American community college on a reservation to go away because I might take their best students away from them working at their casino.   Yet I was still appraised on having a workforce that mirrored my population base.

IBM (2025 $17 Million Federal Settlement)

IBM faced a highly publicized federal probe after internal video leaks showed leadership placing intense pressure on managers to meet racial quotas.

The Escalation: The Department of Justice (DOJ) used its enforcement powers to probe whether IBM committed fraud by misrepresenting its adherence to federal merit-based hiring laws while secretly utilizing racial preferences.

The Outcome: In April 2025, IBM agreed to pay $17 million to settle the federal investigation. Concurrently, IBM quietly eliminated diversity metrics from its executive compensation packages and overhauled its hiring practices.

Nike (2026 Federal Investigation)

In February 2026, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) targeted Nike with a sweeping administrative subpoena following a major systemic probe.

The Allegations: The federal government accused Nike of engaging in a "pattern or practice" of racial discrimination. The EEOC asserted that Nike's aggressive career tracking, internship programs, and internal mentorship pipelines systematically shut out white applicants and employees.

Target Corporation

Target was hit with severe shareholder rebellions, falling board representation, and direct legal challenges over its aggressive "Belonging at the Bullseye" diversity metrics.

The Violation: In 2021, Target implemented the rigid "REACH" initiative, setting hard public goals to aggressively mandate the advancement of Black employees and force specific percentages of minority-owned suppliers into its retail chain.

You're actually supporting my point by showing companies getting busted and paying huge lawsuit fines for having quotas.

The Walt Disney Company & Comcast

The media and entertainment sector has been hit by a wave of federal enforcement actions targeting on-screen and behind-the-scenes hiring mandates.

The Violation: Disney utilized a "Diversity & Inclusion" metric embedded directly into executive performance reviews, which directly tied multi-million dollar leadership compensation to hitting demographic numbers.

You've only listed a VERY small fraction of the companies out there snd I can guarantee they all or almost all changed their policies after getting busted.

So ur dumb examples aren't even relevant to 2026.

You’re not a smart person.   And you said repeatedly it never even happened.

Morgan Stanley

The global investment banking giant came under heavy fire for its highly formalized diversity pipelines, which critics and legal watchdogs alleged functioned as exclusionary hiring practices.

The Violation: Morgan Stanley implemented specialized career training, executive-track fellowships, and internship programs that explicitly restricted participation based on race or sex.
