Actually came back on here to share that the AG here in Florida has sent staff to DC to start investigating and issuing subpoena toward possible state charges.  Although DeSantis pretty much did his own thing in Florida during the pandemic so I don’t know what they would be able to charge him with in the state of Florida.  Will be interesting to follow. 

Yeah, DeSantis went his own way and fared better than most states that followed Fauci's "recommendations".  Seems unlikely anything will happen in FL.

My mother passed away Feb 4, 2020.   She was buried with my father in Idaho on Feb 29.   After the burial, I contacted the place where she lived (assisted living place) and said I could be part of a memorial that many of the residents would probably want to attend.   They said fine.   A week later, I said I had heard nothing and they said I couldn't come from the outside.  So I provided them a sketch of my mother's life so they could do it and they were grateful.   I wrote or called a week later and asked how it went.   It didn't.   They were under total lockdown and residents couldn't leave their rooms.  

Awful, just awful.   My mother was lucky, we were there for her until the end.   One month later that ended and families were separated, older folks were lonely and probably expired more quickly due to that than getting covid.   And I feel very sorry for those who lost loved ones in places like that that were not able to go visit in person due to the lockdowns.   

Not to mention the school lockdowns which went on from April 2020 to June 2021.   School was held Sep 2021 here in WA.  My youngest son graduated Jun 2020, and my daughter was 2 years behind him and lost a lot of education.   I'm not talking about this from a vacuum.   Gov Inslee held onto the Covid emergency powers for 970 days.   970 DAYS!!!!   The legislature did nothing because they were all D.  This was all political and ruined people, families, and kids' education and they are still suffering today.

Sorry to hear about your mom, but nursing homes were like the one thing that was rightfully locked down…

First: I read your previous post and the last part, with the font it was hard to tell if you were telling your story or from an article, but from the context it seems like your story.  If so, all I can say is I’m terribly sorry.  
 

As for Florida and DeSantis’ handling and leadership, all I can say is my father was here for a few months during the pandemic, no issues.   He then traveled to his northern home in Indiana, around August, taking an eastern detour through the Carolina’s, and very soon got sick with the virus, and came as close to dying as one could possibly come without dying.  Connection or coincidence, I don’t know. But that’s what happened.

Thanks.   I feel very fortunate that she passed away when she did.   I feel she was very fortunate to pass away when she did for her sake.  2 months later would have been even worse.   

She was in assisted living, she lived on her own until the last week.   But was assisted.
