I did not perceive a PSU shun in the interviews.  Most were useless.  I skipped most of them, but thought Sinclair came across really well after his 3rd place victory.   "Media training" Hmm.  I cringe thinking about what I might have said on camera when I was their age.  Most of the questions were so leading it was pointless, especially when interviewing the Okie St guys.  I like how Vega called out Swiderski for helping him so much during the season.  Class move.

Considering all the God references in interviews - Greg's was the most honest. God doesn't care who wins NCAA's.

It was Jesus’s plan for Barr to bump up from 184 to 197

This. Picking-up his boy after a disappointing finish tells us a lot about the team (BTW we -- fans-- know exactly what Vega is talking about bc of our access to the team. This one comment makes the OSU narrative and the fans' investment in it richer )

The Vega one was pretty good overall

If Jesus spends his time focusing on PSU wrestler's weight classes, he needs to prioritize his time better

I might do a spoof video of these penn state zealot style interviews after i hit the sauna this evening. I mean they need to be mocked so badly.

Having faith is fine. I, myself, beleive in god but these guys are sooooo over the top. Theyre the christian version of the joke "how do you know if someone is vegan/ does crossfit? Just wait a second, Theyll tell you"

FWIW David Carr said the same thing after his championship re: Swiderski holding him accountable and doing extra workouts/cutting.  For those who are unaware, Swiderski is a SERIOUS runner with half-marathon times that are above and beyond a college wrestler who just does it for conditioning.  He sounds like an awesome teammate.

I wasn't sure what to make of Mesenbrink's post-finals presser. I thought he says a lot of weird things because he's just kind of a weird kid, but he sounded rather scoldy, almost unhinged last night. It was like he was angry about something and needed to get a bunch of stuff off his chest and rant.

He seems angry, depressed and honestly a bit lost.

Fair enough.  Jax did a good job citing a Bible verse but at least trying to tie it to wrestling

the post matches interviews were beyond special. I’m an old school sucka for high level sports figures publicly  acknowledging those who got them where they are. I elect Sparks to visit NCAA corporate to convince them to run the Valencia interview nationally as an example of what makes this sport so damn special.

I could do without the interviews 60 seconds after the match. Massive adrenaline dump, huge achievements, they're hugging their families and coaches, and then they're expected to get on camera? One dude even said "I dunno, I'm tired". Give them some time to recover and then ask questions. Just a thought.

Jacob Kasper had a point one year; Friday night the mat side interviews should be bloodround winners not semi's winners - you'll get a much better reaction/response

It's because he's a singer at heart but stuck being a wrestler. So instead of following his dreams and going on The voice he's stuck wrestling Caliendo for eternity 😔
