I didn’t know they had Buxton on staff as an assistant. Didn’t look at their roster but I wonder if a Blair pipeline develops there…

Gray has priority on Blair recruits when it comes to Ivy schools

I suppose it is possible, but he will have an Ivy League degree and international aspirations.  I also would not be surprised to see him give MMA a shot at some point.  All this would probably be working against him wanting to extend his NCAA career, especially after going out with a great performance.

International wrestling aspirations?  HWC is still probably a top 5 RTC so I don’t think that would really be a detractor if that’s what you’re implying.   I guess Michigan could be a player since they love getting guys that compete for other countries, but it’s not like they have a gaping hole at 165.

Iowa got Real Woods after he graduated from Stanford so he wouldn’t be the first smart school guy to go there.   Also Tom talked about looking closer at “who the guys are” that are in the portal so would think an Ivy graduate would be a good indicator of a positive addition

I was not implying that.  Just saying that there is a lot of good/big stuff going on in his life, and I do not think he was being dishonest when he was saying the was done with NCAA over the weekend.   Again, stuff can change.

Good for Alvan... under the radar...qualifies for the NCAA 2x... comes in #12 and takes 3rd. That's called development.  I imagine as a 2x NQ he probably did get some calls and could have left...but he didn't. Good on him. More should take notice.

As a side note, I think it's funny that Tom is just now deciding to "look into who guys are."

Did anyone other than hardcore Columbia wrestling fans even know about this guy?  Wild that he came out of nowhere as the 12 seed to get 3rd at 165.  I can see Nicolls throwing him a bag to be the next Caliendo.

That would be crazy IMO if he can get more eligibility.  But yes he’d have to transfer.  Iowa?

Top coaches have already checked him out and he has one more year. Outside of the Ivies of course. Very curious who wants him. Solid AA for whoever. #1 guess would be Rutgers? He could get a Master's degree for free. Or he uses that prestigious Ivy degree and gets a high paying job and rides off on a way note.

What are they calling 2022?  A medical where he wrestled into February?  Some sort of retroactive regular redshirt where he wrestled 3 “extra countable matches” in addition to open tournaments?

Chris Stetcowitz (sp) as well.

I didnt realize doc stankowitz, sp for me too if we're talking about the same person, came with him from new york. Not sure if he is still at ohio state but pretty sure he was around for Ryan's first decade. Good guy for the mental side of wrestling.

Charles griffin was a guy that I think stayed at Hofstra a year after Ryan left and was a three time AA I think. I think dad Patrovich was the first pride AA in the seventies and the older brother Mike AA ed before he left and pretty sure Ryan AA ed after he transferred to Hofstra from his lone year and ACL injury in Columbus. That was 20 years ago and I'm old

You see the difference between you and Thomas Gilman is when he made a racist statement, he later retracted it. You kn the otherhand outright refuse to.

Conclusion which is not jumped to but is actuallyconfirmed is..

Thomas Gilman - not racist biggott

Chromebird - racist biggott.

If you're going to use the word 50+ times in a single thread, it might be worth learning how to spell it..

Hey brainrot, if I wanted to ridicule your physical attributes I'd make fun of your height 🍤 or your face 👺. You're a walking bounty of low-hanging fruit.

Amen, when guys are progressing don't leave! Big jumps in development like that are signs to stay at ur program. No one ever talks about how bad the portal is for some wrestlers future potential. If you are growing somewhere, stay and continue that growth.

Well, if you are ivy you must leave at a certain point.  If you might not be able to get into your grad school at Stanford, you might want to leave.  If your school doesn't have your intended graduate major? Time to leave.
