Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Penn State is unbelievably ahead of their day 1 total from last year thanks to bonus points.

Both believable and predictable. Most expect a new team total record by PSU this year. Yes, we know.

Although PSU won't come close to their 10 AA achievement. One they achieved last year to become the 2nd team to do it.

The Big Ten has 40 wrestlers in the quarterfinals out of a total possible of 80 wrestlers (8 at each of the 10 weights).

But 12 of those matches (24 total wrestlers) in the quarterfinals are Big Ten vs. Big Ten  tomorrow morning.

Yeah, it seems to me they are doing what a team with six number ones and a 2&4 should do on the first day, which is bonus. The only guys who didn't were what's his name and the other guy.

They won all 20 matches last year, so topping that score still seems like an accomplishment to me.

I wonder how that compares to last year.  Seems like Bit Ten and Big 12 dominating.  Seems like ACC underperforming.  I haven't looked at the data.  When you spend your conference season wrestling against high quality opponents, it makes NCAAs less intimidating.

Dispassionate Penn State grad and fan.

They absolutely can still have 10 AA’s

They could also absolutely have half their #1 seeds lose a match. Anything is possible, no matter how unlikely.

Anyhoo, I'm predicting they won't have 10 AA's. Cuz of the c'mon-throw-the-brick guy, and maybe that other guy.

Well you said they “won’t come close to 10 AA’s.”  Depends on your definition of close I guess, because they’re an extremely safe bet for 8 and a decent chance at least one of the other 2 does as well.  Is 9 not “close” to 10?

I predict they won't come close to 10 because the throw-the-brick-guy stands no chance.

Just sayin'
