  3. Government mandates run amok. In a bid to capitalize on the climate hoax mania the Chinese government mandated, subsidized, and is now reaping one of the biggest industrial catastrophes ever. When physics and consumer demand do not meet your goals make a mandate and everything will work out perfectly. This article by Reuters is a long read for those who tackle it. https://www.reuters.com/investigations/china-is-sending-its-world-beating-auto-industry-into-tailspin-2025-09-17/ Summary: If you make them do it they will make it. Buy you cannot make people want it or buy it at a market price. Then really bad things happen. Like destruction of industries and horrible climate consequences - at least on the local level where these unwanted hunks will rot.
  4. As the calendar is ready to turn to October, we’re only about two and a half weeks away from the crown jewel of the high school preseason - the Super 32. The Super 32 is the rare offseason event where there is no separation due to age. Everyone gets lumped together and you have some massive, meatgrinder brackets. With so much talent headed to Greensboro, North Carolina for the tournament, it seems appropriate to look at the tournament from a collegiate perspective. Which squads have the most talent in the 2025 Super 32? We’ve combed through the entries and separated wrestlers via their future homes. The numbers next to a wrestler's name are their ranking within their respective recruiting class. 5. It would be very interesting to see a dual between that Davison team and McCort. Not only because of the 'differences' in weight classes, but because McCort has no qualms about wrestling up, so we could see a Forrest-Metcalf and a Bassett-Reader matchup (145/152). Davison around that time was wrestling as tough a schedule as anybody in the country. I think they were ranked around Top 5-10, not even Top 3, and this was around the time that St Eds seemed to have their number. Also, I do believe I am mis-remembering which Davison team had the D1 wrestlers on it. It was a couple/few years prior to this one (I think). If we're talking the Big 3 alone, if they accommodated Davison - or vice versa, I think Metcalf and Reader both beat Forrest and Bassett, but realistically speaking I think Forrest destroys anyone in the 130-140 range (easily) and Bassett loses to Metcalf or Reader in the same manner. I also think if Metcalf has Bassett, Davison could do the bump with Reader and send him after Miller, which I think Miller wins. It's all about styles for those matchups. For Forrest, he has a better chance against Metcalf than many might think. Forrest's scrambling ability might frustrate him excessively. I expect it to, even. Reader and Metcalf are huge for their weight, endless tanks, and, I think, just better at what Bassett does with forward pressure, so it's just not a good matchup for him. Miller, I think, just too fast for Reader. Too fast, too good. Reader made a HUGE trajectory leap between Junior and Senior season. Destroyer of worlds type stuff.

  7. Side note on the state of American journalism - really disappointing that I can't find a simple timeline of charges, convictions, jail time, etc...Would not be difficult for a journalist to do, and yet...For how much outrage there is about this case online, the people pushing their stories are doing us all a terrible disservice by not actually outlining the case. I guess all that matters is that the headline gets clicks.
  8. I'm having a hard time finding records of his various arrests/crimes. Looks like he served several years in prison in addition to shorter stays and followed the rules of his probation when released. He was on probation at the time of these crimes. I'm also seeing that there was a major clerical error that may have led to him getting lighter sentences than he should have (finger prints weren't properly recorded so past history did not show up on his record properly?). That's on the police, prosecutor, and judge. I have no problem holding those people accountable. American law enforcement doesn't get nearly enough scrutiny for how often they show themselves to be lazy and incompetent. From what I can see (and please post more information if you find it), this crime was a serious escalation in violence. He was repeatedly charged, convicted, and imprisoned for past crimes. I am not in favor of a 3 strikes system. I think, on balance, it does more harm than good, though it would have prevented this specific tragedy. These are the tradeoffs of freedom. Horrible tragedy and my heart breaks for the family. Fortunately, justice will be done.

  19. Is that Bouzakis at 125 and Karchla at 97? Mendez is the blood thirsty Count!
  20. Exactly. He's had the hottest gal in school all the way through college (aka wrestling.) But it's marriage time. Go with what you know or maybe time to test the waters. We very likely won't agree on the best choice here - but I'm a strong 'test the waters' backer. So far, everything is working out just fine. (Testing the waters includes no expectation that they'll actually be good. Thus, the reason they are tested.)
