Dean Hamiti and Wyatt Hendrickson defeated 2 NCAA champs
Cornell Kevin replied to Boring's topic in College Wrestling
Believe the question is asking for guys who had to beat two separate individuals who were already NCAA champs, not guys who were 2x champions. -
If you can get them to listen, you will have earned that 3%. Back when they mattered, Sports Illustrated did a story about the frequency of athletes going bankrupt within a few years of retirement. One of the common problems they identified was the propensity to invest in things that werr tangible. So restaurants, bars, night clubs, and crazy inventions were favored over financial assets. And most of these ideas were presented by friends and family, who they struggled to say no to. My favorite bad idea was Rocket Ismail, I think, investing in inflattable rafts you attach to your funiture in case you have a flood.

My advice to all professional athletes - put it all in an S&P Index fund and leave it alone. Also, pay 3% to me for that advice.

70kg notes: •How about Pantaleo not even placing at 70kg? He lost to Arrington 3-2 on back side after losing to Andonian by 4-4 criteria on front side. • Watch out for Arrington next year, he seems to be a whole new animal at 157 lbs as seen by his red shirt success at the weight. Two time blood rounder will be a blood rounder no more! • Pretty impressive for Ian Parker to take 3rd place. • PJ Duke to try and make X through challenge tourney? I know people mention PJ Duke jumping in to try and make Final X. I am a huge PJ Duke fan, been watching him dominate here in NY since he was in 7th grade. With that being said, I have my doubts about him being quite ready for these top tier senior level guys yet like a Yianni or James Green. When I watched him vs Pantaleo at this past world team trials for non olympic weights, the match was not really that close. Maybe it was just a bad match up for him style wise, but I don’t think he is quite there yet. Not that there is anything wrong with a HS kid not being the best in the country at seniot level yet lol. Not to take anything away from what Blaze, and Jax are doing, but it is that much harder for HS guys to compete at those 65-70-74kg weight classes at senior level I think. Duke will win a Gold this year at U20s and likely should have won it last year had it not been for that embarrassing cold spray performance show cased by his semi opponent who had clearly ran out of gas. •Great title for Yianni! • Yianni teched/pinned his way to final before beating Green 8-2. • Green has been nearly unbeatable vs domestic on our soil at 70kg. In fact, every time he has thrown his hat in for the 70kg world team spot, he has earned it. • Yianni is now 4-0 vs Green in FS. • although 8-2 final, that match was neck and neck till about a minute to go. Yianni in great shape. I think it’s safe to say that these two will rematch at Final X. Unless maybe Nick Lee or Zain were to jump in which I doubt. -
Is there a future for Connor Mirasola at PSU?

The more academically competitive schools limit the number of transfer credits allowed. So you can transfer after one year or as a grad. transfer, but not in between. -

Man, am I glad I don't know you. -
Based on convos like these, I think the majority on this forum are clueless or completely outdated with their information. Any gymbro down the street at the local gym has better information than what's being discussed here. The fact that people are still thinking all that's out there is steroids from the 80s kinda proves that point. Not saying it as a slight. A lot of people are starting to use retatrutide (next gen fat loss medicine) + ipamorelin + tesamorelin and they actually come out with more muscle than before while cutting tons of weight. Plenty of before and after shots online... Just to say, the science is way ahead and you best believe these athletes, who are making hundreds of thousands of dollars, are trying to get an edge.

Due to the death of the pledges over there during hazing, it's probably a good idea to have adult supervision.

It was actually 5-2 Cardenas after Yianni lost the challenge. Yeah in normal speed looked like that was just a smooth chest wrap by Yianni but then they called it a feet to back for Cardenas followed by an exposure for Yianni. Man oh man did Yianni stomp him after that out scoring him 18-2 rest of the way! -

Motor, gas tank, whatever you want to call it. The guys ability to keep attacking at the pace he does without seeming to get tired is incredible. I’m not sure most people can even develop that sort of thing thing. Some guys just have that ability. Messenbrink has it combined with great tech and high level attacks. In some ways it kind of reminds me how dominant Burroughs was with his double leg earlier in his freestyle career. Everyone knew it was coming and still couldn’t stop it. Messenbrink needs to get a few senior level international events under his belt, but man he is going to do some damage.

I am seeing that Mirzazadeh was born in 98 which would make him 30 for the next Olympics. Yeah super heavyweights are a different in that the ones with conservative styles are in there primes from like 26 to 35 (and some can win gold even up to their early 40s) and the ones with explosive games (throws, lifts) from about 25 to 32. So I'd say he has one more Olympics left (maybe 2) in his prime. I'm not impressed with Hamza. I think he's just a big body that is hard to score on. Kind of like Acosta. At 23 years old, great wrestlers don't get pinned by an outside reach bronze medalist. He'll medal a lot, especially in Europe, because someone has to and he's young. Semenov already looks like a 48 year old truck driver living on a fast food diet, I don't think he'll age gracefully. Joking aside, he's already struggled with weight, motivation, and fitness in his 20s, I doubt he will experience a renaissance in his 30s. He also has the most lift and throw based game of any of the top super heavies (which is why he's my favorite active wrestler). Those people tend to have shorter careers (ala Karelin) as it requires enormous strength exertion and is liable to be injurious . My prediction is he won't be winning golds at 34.

You can still win by fall after being down by 10 (happened in world championships for women's a few years ago) but you can not currently score points to keep the match alive. The sequence is still allowed to continue though.

I don't think there's ever been the time when the US has ever had 5 high schoolers as good and accomplished as these five: L Lockett J Forrest M Blaze P Duke B Bassett How would you rank them, in freestyle? Anyone more deserving of top 5 than these five? (The Open's done but still plenty of time for upsets at U20s...)
