I have no problem with heavy referees. Obviously I wouldn't want them to face the accompanying health effects, but that's not really any of my business. If they are willing to referee and can do a decent job - I am grateful for their role in the wrestling community

Not an answer in full, but part of the difference is the scrambling and the defense of not giving up a takedown - they were not scrambling like they do now when they were a sophomores in HS.

Refs should have yearly physical and cognitive aptitude tests. They can opt out of said tests if they are able to do stuff like this:
