I have been to Istanbul and Bogota for work. Istanbul in 1996 or so. There were armed guards at the entrance to malls and historic sites. I can't tell you how violated I felt. Just kidding. I did not feel unsafe or uneasy other than my hope that these folks had proper gun training. I was in Bogota during the cartel time. Bogota was safe but I was told not to leave the city limits. There were armed guards on all the carreterra overpasses and mall entrances. Again, I felt safe, much safer than if they had not been there that's for sure. Red Herring that armed officers of the law create a feeling of unsafety. Totally. When the area is crime ridden, no one is going to have a problem with increased officer presence. The only exception are illegals and people who act illegally. mspart

The long term should be increase police presence, meaning hiring more police to maintain the short term fixes that Trump is supporting. Any Political worth his/her salt would see the short term reduction in violent crime and want that to continue if they want to keep their job. DC sees the change and Bowser has acquiesced. Smart politician. Right now Chicago mayor and IL gov look like idiots. They don't want violent crime reduced? Say what? Violent crime in big cities is primarily against blacks. So black lives do not matter? Say what? This is not going unnoticed. Hence all the folks in Chicago posting videos asking for help to get their neighborhoods safe. It will not be a panacea but the effort will show that the violent and non-violent crime can be reduced by greater police presence on the streets. But Trumps effort will be short term. It will be up to the cities to man up and get their police up to proper numbers. This is a losing position for the D big city leaders and D governors that are saying no to reducing crime. mspart

Not sure if he’s been suggested. Need Nicky Push-ups on a RAF card

Odd ... I figured rv used the Ruble Gold Card as it avoids the US dollar devaluation.

I prefer to just keep getting new cards w rewards bonuses (eg, $250 if u spend X in Y months). Get the bonus, spend it, then cancel the card. Hurts credit rating a tiny bit but I don't care because I don't borrow $ anyway. I end up with >> $1k in bonus rewards per yr. A lot of the Cc companies won't give me new cards anymore but there are still plenty of suckers out there. It's also tax free if u use it as statement credit.

Trump Sending TX Nat Guard to Chicago?
red viking replied to red viking's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
I'm actually most interested in the LONG TERM plan. Keep troops (and the extra fbi, ICE agents, etc) there indefinitely ( and away from jobs, other duties and family) and if not what happens after they leave? Either way, unlikely to be a long tem benefit. Few will want to join the NG if this is the crap they end up doing for long periods of time. -
Less than a week after a successful RAF 01 card in Cleveland, Ohio, Real American Freestyle announced the date and location for their second offering. RAF 02 will be held on November 8th in Penn State's historic Rec Hall. The RAF crew made sure there was plenty of local Cleveland flavor on the opening card - featuring Ohio State four-time All-Americans Nathan Tomasello and Lance Palmer, so it's a safe bet that this one will include some Penn State/Nittany Lion Wrestling Club personnel. As of now, there have not been any matches announced for RAF 02; however, we'll have them here once they are confirmed. Tickets for RAF 02 are not on sale yet, but you can request to be put on their mailing list here. Which matchups are you hoping to see? We listed a potential card with matches to make earlier this week.

Tito is definitely far from brain damaged. He is actually doing some pretty wonderful community based things right now, and I can assure you he is far from brain damaged. -
I'm in the same boat with Amex platinum... I can get some of that annual fee back through travel perks and credits that aren't insignificant but I don't feel like I'm getting the most bang for my buck when it comes to daily purchases
-
Delta Reserve Card here. Just started using it a few months ago. The large fee did suck, but I looked at how much I'm in airports and what I'd be spending on food and basic stuff that i'd be grabbing near a gate and it checked out. Mainly got it for the lounge access given how much I travel. Kinda pays for itself in that regard.

Huge congratulations to her and her freshly engaged fiancé. That kid is going to be a monster.

Not sure why but I would be pulling for Austin hard in this one. -
I follow a guy called "the points guy". He has a lot of recommendations and hacks to boost your point totals. I can't really stomach the large annual fees on most of the travel cards but some are fairly reasonable and the benefits are worth it.
-
With the Chase Sapphire Reserve card bumping its yearly fee and changing the point reward multipliers, is it still the card to use? My yearly renewal fee is coming up soon and debating keeping it or not

I've done some research (apparently not enough for Bigbrog) and it's all more or less the same headline quotes and media hot takes - before supporting the deployment of the National Guard to a city, I'd like to know the details... If it's just sending the guard to high crime area to show a presence and free up police to do investigative work, so be it, but I'd like to know. I'm curious if anyone has seen more details on what the plan is

Trump Sending TX Nat Guard to Chicago?
Caveira replied to red viking's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
They’re gonna prolly do the same shyte they did in dc. This question was also asked 653 times regarding dc and no one really in this forum was briefed on the specifics of their tasks. And I think you know that and are just rabble rousing Ask rock lobster. I guess they just stand around and somehow lowered crime. -
