How ironic that this whole Bo Bachelor situation might end up being decided because the school that gets him might have wanted Miller more.

Iran has the national tournament as well as the Takhti cup. Doing well in these is the prerequisite for being considered a contender for the weight. Often there is written and predefined ‘cycle’ for who ultimately gets the national nomination which would also involve competing in international tournaments. The Takhti cup and National Championships are not based on league structure but instead individual provinces send wrestlers based on quotas. Often you see Mazandaran wrestlers participating under the flag/quota of other provinces. The league competitions is separate and performed with teams ( not individual winners for the competition but teams winners)often with industrial sponsors that allows a revenue stream for the athletes. They will often have wrestlers from Russia also participate as the funding whilst not huge is enough to be conducive to participation.

As much as I hope it's not, I think it's going to be PSU. Pyles made a cryptic youtube video discussing that he caught wind about it Friday and essentially said Cael does not give up on recruits and then went on to say nothing about OKst. PSU will also be a seamless lineup fit at 149. There would be a ton of overlap at Oklahoma state not that I don't think he would make his way in the lineup, but Vega,Raney,Robiedau,Bassett would all be in that 149-157 range.

The clear implication from the OP was that churches in general are being targeted. Looks like the motive for this one was likely specific to this guy blaming that particular church for his friend’s death.

The loss of Bo and Melvin stings. It's pretty obvious to me that both will land at Ok State, which is good for wrestling because it means in the next 5 years a team other than Penn State is going to win the title. However Iowa needs to take drastic action now if it wants to remain a top 4 program. I think Iowa needs to make one of two moves: 1. Hire Spencer Lee ASAP - I don't care if he's still competing. He can be a player-coach. And he doesn't necessarily need to be HC right away. Bring him on as an assistant coach. Iowa HAS to get Lee locked in before a program like Ohio State makes him an offer he can't refuse. 2. Have Bob back up the Nicolls Truck to PJ Duke and/or Marcus Blaze's houses. - Iowa must flip one of these guys, otherwise the power balance is irreparably tilted toward Penn State and Ok State. Iowa NEEDS star power, pronto and one of these guys could be the next Spencer. If Iowa makes one (preferably both) of these moves, they will stay a top 4 team for the next decade. If they make none, they risk falling off the medal stand altogether.

The reason I am predicting him to Okie State is because PSU has such a log jam at most weights but I didn't think about him going 149lbs after Van Ness leaves. That could certainly open up a possibility. Also - I did not know that Melvin Miller was his brother. A matter of fact this past week is the first I am really even hearing any hype about Melvin Miller. Are they blood related?

I believe the upcoming new head of Iranian wrestling federation( apparently due to be in post mid August) Rasoul Khadem intends to send a strong team to the world championship in September. I have it from good authority that Hassan Cherati won’t make it for 86 kg ( too concerned about losing to Z. Valencia being a prodigy of D. Taylor apparently)but instead is looking to go down to 79kg.
