Yeah, they were picking a lot of crops there in south Chicago. These guys are really going to affect food prices across the country. However, the folks in that apartment area are probably celebrating their freedom. mspart

Great video ... yes I have my tickets.

I couldn't agree more. But, it does happen and a decision must be made on the future. The amount of pain endured by someone with that injury is intense. Not something you want to go around with for the rest of your life even with a possible Olympic gold on the line. That's my calculation. I can't imagine anyone else would do it differently. But others don't act or react they way I would to various things so it is an individual decision. My thought is if it has already happened, it will more easily happen again. No need to even go there in my opinion. I wish the best for Vito whatever path he chooses. mspart

National Duals Invitational Seeding

This is fantastic -
I always thought I'd do a tri event, most of my running friends did, figured the swim would be the hard training. Glad swim was first then if I drowned wouldn't have to do the bike run. However, had to give up running due to knee and switched to cycling so never did the a tri or swim training.

You think these tren de aragua monsters belong here?

I had to swim a mile once for a life saving merit badge in a lake in Wisconsin. Unpleasant ha. At least I was in wrestling shape so it wasn’t super bad.

Problem is the detainment and deportation of undocumented residents that committed no crime other than being here. That's part of the reason why we have significant food inflation right now and, in some cases, vegetable crops left rotting in the fields. Multiple reasons why Trump's policies are ramping up inflation (in addition to devaluing of the dollar and record-breaking deficit spending) but that's one of them. The idiot wingers think they're getting rich because their 401ks are skyrocketing (in terms of nominal dollars only) but are too dumb to realize that so are everybody else's and the main reason is the free falling value of the dollar.

So you are saying if Hamas takes over they will save the planet?
-
I was just testing you. My sense is 100 mi bike ride about equivalent to 15 mi run and 3 mi swim. Although pretty sure I could never swim 3 mi.

Any updates on the Mizzou lineup other than Hawks transferring?

20 miles? That's crazy talk. The most I ever swam non-stop was 3.2 miles. The most in a day was 10.

This is due to a change in the Naturalization request form that happened in 2024. Immigration applicants used to have to go to a separate office to apply for a non-citizen SSN. Now they can do that straight on their naturalization form. The process is more efficient so more people are actually getting the SSNs they're supposed to be getting as part of the application for citizenship. This makes sure they have proper work authorization and are paying taxes. That's why, if you look closer at the graph, 2025 under Trump is actually on track to exceed 2024. The current column only reflects the first 3 months of the year.

Music has looked unreal this summer. I wonder if both have a connection with Hayden?

2027 Big Boarders
wrestlingfan22 replied to Indiana-Hawk-Wrestling-Fan's topic in High School Wrestling
Music and Vielma to Stanford, more of these dominoes are falling. Two PA guys committing after the same visit, funny enough, I would have predicted Music to Pitt and Vielma to WVU based on family/location connections, but neither school should be too upset as academics and weather are not comparable between those programs and Stanford -
White Conservatives are the biggest threat
uncle bernard replied to Scouts Honor's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Yes, and also many people don't fall neatly into either "side." That's why the "he's a leftist/conservative" debate is often fruitless. In this case, my guess is his hate of Mormons is likely rooted in his own religious faith, but being deeply religious is not really a right/left political issue even if conservatives are more likely to be religious. -

If this is still talking about the MI church shooting, the guy looks like he was a Trump supporter but hated the Mormons for some reason. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/30/mormon-church-shooting-hate-religion So there are crazies on both sides if that is what you want to say. He is no longer in a position to cause more harm so that is a good thing. mspart -

Mr. PeanutButter replied to Dark Energy's topic in International Wrestling
Wishing him the best in life and, if he decides to continue, in the sport. Selfishly hope to see him (near) his best and at 65kg soon but agree that the most important thing is to prioritize long term health. I absolutely hate it when injuries hamper or end careers -
Monday night/Tuesday morning was huge for Stanford recruiting. The Cardinal staff received, not one, but two verbal commitments from Big Boarders in the Class of 2027. Pennsylvania natives #35 Greyson Music (Bishop McDevitt, PA) and #116 Kai Vielma (Connellsville, PA) both committed to Chris Ayres’ squad. Music is a two-time Pennsylvania AA state medalist, finishing third in 2025 at 127 lbs and he made the 121 lb finals as a freshman. Over the summer, Music placed third in Fargo’s U16 freestyle tournament, up at 144 lbs. After the 2023-24 season, Music was a finalist at NHSCA Freshman Nationals. He’s currently ranked 13th in the nation at 138 lbs by MatScouts. Vielma was third at Pennsylvania’s AAA classification in 2025, after not placing as a freshman. His state medal came in the 139-pound weight class. Like Music, Vielma was also an NHSCA Freshman National runner-up in 2024. Both Music and Vielma were a part of a loaded group visiting Palo Alto over the weekend. In addition to these two, #7 Mario Carini (Poway, CA), #30 Jimmy Mastny (Marian Central, IL), and #96 Wyatt Hanssen (Wasatch, UT), took a trip to Stanford. Getting both signifies wins in the conference recruiting wars, as ACC schools were after both wrestlers. Before committing to Stanford, Music took visits to Bucknell, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia. Vielma toured Cornell, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Vielma’s commitment might be unexpected, as his older brother, Lonzy, is an incoming freshman at West Virginia. At the next level, both wrestlers are projected to compete in the 149/157 range. The 157 lb weight class will be open by the time the pair hits campus, as All-American Daniel Cardenas is heading into his junior year. There are plenty of young options available for the Stanford staff in the middleweights, but no clear-cut successors. We’ve had a recent run on commitments from the junior class, so for all of the recruits that have committed from the Class of 2027: Click Here

I am hoping he focuses on health and goes 65 KG.
