  1. Past hour
  2. Crazy how many experts we have on here that know how this stuff works.
  3. Askren, Messenbrink and O'Toole all went to the same HS. Not a major national power but they produce some great individual talent.
  4. He'd even has to go out of his way to find the ad. It's not like he passed a billboard with this ad on it. It's possible it was his first time, but I am sure he's been to places recently where it is way more accessible.
  5. “it’s just good for the sport” I couldn’t agree with you more scourge. Great post.
  6. Politicians, in general, have never been known for their honesty, but this guy takes it to the next level. He literally lies about EVERY single thing that somebody could possibly believe (e.g. he isn't going to claim that the sky is pink but maybe that's next).
  7. You know the answer to that. The point is, a suspension is not a good look. Maybe not someone you want associated with your program. Are you aware that refusal to take a breathalyzer often results in a OUI conviction?
  8. Kennedy wouldn't make the roster unless he changed weight as Penn State has Haines, Henkel and Cunningham. Same with 133/141 Penn State has Davis, Nagao,(All Americans) Blaze (top recruit), Ono (world champ), Perry (getting no money) and Cunningham (Coaches kid). Ayala would but Bailey doesn't bump anyone off the roster. Whomever starts at 157 doesn't make Penn State's top 30. Endenne doesn't make it at 197 either though he might make the roster at heavyweight.
  9. I think this is deceptive, but I am sure a lot of people think it is fine to do this. It is common practice with BJJ instructors. Many will list among their accomplishments "world champ" and omit that it was either at a lower belt level, some masters/youth age division, and/or some off-brand promotion. It is commonly accepted for some reason.
  10. “Former” dad? Was his kid on the team during the recent incident? If not why is he doing interviews? If so, I am no PSU fan but sounds like he’s just in CYA mode. If it’s been an issue for years why wasn’t it reported previously? Edit: and how the heck would a dad that’s not a coach even be involved in hazing?
  11. Or just hope they misspell Mitch's name on the score card and he fails to show.
  12. When I wrestled some of the guys decided to haze and bully the coaches by dipping one coaches whistle in the toilet. A team captain knew about it and did not tell the coach before he used his whistle. Let me tell you that it was not a fun day after practice for the two guys who did it and the captain who knew. They had PIs after practice, and it wasn't pretty.
  13. @jross now do the same for Eve Berrington
  14. Because he is working with their athletes and he is suspended by a drug testing organization? Granted the PSU athletic department does have a history of looking the other way, but I would think that would make them extra vigilant.
  15. I don't get any military benefits. I suppose I could get VA benefits if I wanted them but I never chose that.
  16. That's a long 22 hours.
  17. Today
  18. I do wonder if PSU administrators are aware or even care that a coach/mentor with an association to their athletes is currently serving a USADA suspension. No, NLWC isn't officially a PSU thing, but PSU coaches are on the staff and are NLWC athletes. The NLWC coaches/athletes work with the PSU kids. Etc. Etc. There is a lot of grey area, and I have to wonder what admin would think about Gilman?
  19. Carr's best strategy Outslick and pull out all stops for match 1. Sandbag Match Two, just take the L. Get match 3 to as close to a toss up as possible and hope for the best.
  20. No, people are bringing up past events and incidents to suggest that it's been going on for a while within their program. A former dad who has basically been going on a media tour has referenced that one of the worst culprits (along with his dad) is now wrestling at a major university. Swiderski was Dundee, but that guy has said specifically that's not who he's referring to. Barr was a Davison HS kid.
  21. Zahid beat Rahmani at the ranking series, thats where my hope comes from. I am not sure about Kadievs senior level accolades at 86kg. He did win russian nationals at 79kg. edit he also won russian nats at 86kg. He beat Bagaev who some people feel got hosed against Sadulaev and Usmanov.
