What ever happened to Forrest's appear?
-
Well, I was trying to not pile on and blame Lee/Iowa/Brands Bros. But we can revert back to that.
-
In the last 4 global tournaments, we are 11-0 at 65kg against everyone not named Rahman Amouzad. Yianni silver to Amouzad, Lee 3-0 then falls to Amouzad in the quarters, Zain falls to Amouzad then defaults, Woods bronze from Amouzad's bracket If you're undefeated other than 4 losses to the best guy in the world, aren't you actually very good??

Favorite college wrestlers of all-time
Gene Mills Fan replied to Fadzaev2's topic in College Wrestling
Drake Ayala I love when Drake is living on opponents legs. But I like the Fargo Drake way more with that wicked dump in his package; he's stuck on too much head hands some matches -
To be honest I don't think this era of 65 is as scary as it was in the past and getting a medal is much less daunting. Used to have some crazy podiums made up of Chamizo, Asgarov, Ramanov or in the cycle after with Rashidov, Otoguro, Bajrang, Aliyev and Musukaev. I don't put this era of 65 close to the past two.

I think Cooper may get really big kid has been growing like a weed for the last 2 years or so. Same with peterson would not be shocked if he ends up at 165.
-
He went from losing to Desanto to being super competitive with the best guy in the world in a worse training situation last year than he will have this year (I assume he spends more time in stillwater) I think he will still make great strides without forgoing his senior year of HS.

Forrest & Duke this year

Generally, but maybe he's happy this way and his happiness is central to his improvement. -
Letting the results speak for themselves it's obvious that David Taylor is still the p4p best in the US

Why We Suck at Debate (And How to Do It Better)

My mommy said you have to go first. What a baby -
Generally speaking, if someone wants to be the best in the world, they need to take a path other people might not normally take. But of course nobody is obligated to attempt to reach that level.

Why We Suck at Debate (And How to Do It Better)

I am conservative. You are not. Guilty as charged. What are your positions on popular issues? Are they based in fact and reality? Let's try something. Count up how many times you have admitted you were wrong and apologized on this forum. I will do the same. You go first please. No. You laid down this challenge. As a show of good faith, since you have shown little in our past, you should be the honorable one and go first. Further more, I have apologized for misunderstanding someone's intentions or how they phrased certain things or if I misread. In my earlier days of posting much more frequently then recent days/months, I often was a few posts behind when crafting my response and was missing some (cough cough) context that was injected while away. But rarely if ever have I been proven factually wrong(I don't engage in conversations that are either boring or that I agree with already). Its a point of pride that just about all those that I have disagreed with either; handwave away my responses(either because they are too dumb or lazy to read and understand them before asking any clarifying questions), say its AI(common crashout from the right), or just call me names(always the sign of a winning argument). If you have an example, I'd be happy, elated even, to see it. And would humbly apologize for whatever it was that rent me asunder from truth or fact. I am much more thorough in my arguments than, I feel, most people opposed to my ideas are used to considering. I can see how that could be intimidating but you all have the same resources that I do. I don't understand how you refuse to use them. But I think we all know why. You are emotionally attached to your opinions(THAT is something I agree that we all can do from time to time) but I have come to learn how to detach feelings from facts and data. Having a health combination of both isn't bad but being too emotional leads to bad data and being too data driven leads to a loss of humanity and empathy. I find the right is far too emotional and leads to a horrible combination that is the worst of both sides. No data, high emotions, no empathy, no humanity. And the use of debate tactics and not being forced to say what they really feel/think allows them just enough room to convince others that think just like them. No wonder the right is so anti-education and so pro-authoritarian, I'm sorry I meant religious. Having someone else to their thinking for them is the hallmark of the right. Thanks for allowing me a chance to rant. If you can prove me wrong, I'll be happy to apologize. -

yes and yes. Can you imagine 97 kg Brooks, pumped to the gills full of Wegman's DNA and buffalo wings? -
Nothing at 125 was locked and I'm bringing my receipts right wrong and indifferent. I thought DNP personally and unfortunately. Ceiling Floor Prediction Actual 57 Lee Gold Bronze Gold DNP 61 Jax Bronze DNP DNP DNP* (Bronze) 65 Woods Bronze DNP DNP Bronze 70 Duke Bronze DNP DNP DNP 74 Carr Gold DNP Bronze 5th 79 Haines Gold DNP Bronze Silver 86 Zahid Gold DNP Silver Gold 92 Hidlay Gold DNP Bronze Gold 97 Snyder Silver DNP Silver Gold 125 Pindrickson Silver DNP DNP DNP

The post-197lb version of Brooks looks bigger than the 184lb version of him. Also that angle is craptastic in the first picture.
-
Well, he didn't need to be amazing for four minutes.
-
I know he gave Dake all he could handle a couple years back, but he gassed pretty hard. Seeing him up at 79 KG makes me eager to see him head to 86 KG for the Olympics. That would be cool as hell.

Post-Worlds Way Too Early Olympic Lineup Predictions
nhs67 replied to RandolphTJones's topic in International Wrestling
I am going to do it a little different than what you asked for. I am going to list our current team members, and give them what I think is a realistic percentage for being our rep. 57 KG - Lee, ~75% 57 KG 61 KG - Forrest, <5% 65 KG, <1% 57 KG 65 KG - Woods, 5-10% 65 KG 70 KG - Duke, 5-10% 74 KG 74 KG - Carr, 20-25% 74 KG 79 KG - Haines, 15-20% 74 KG, <5% 86 KG 86 KG - Valencia, ~75% 86 KG 92 KG - Thicclay, <5 % 86 KG, 5-10% 97 KG 97 KG - Snyder, ~75% 97 KG 125 KG - Pindrickson, 15-20% 125 KG Interestingly enough, I think were Snyder to go 125 KG, he would win it, and perhaps his match against Parris is to test those waters. That said, I think Lee, Valencia, and Snyder are heavy favorites to make it and realistically only injury or retirement will change that. Lee laid a dud, but that is more because of our unrealistic expectations. If I had to bet, right now, this is what I would put our team at: 57 KG - Lee 65 KG - Mendez 74 KG - Carr 86 KG - Valencia 97 KG - Snyder 125 KG - Parris -
Wonderful performance—and he’s from a country that is not a traditional freestyle power. Does anyone have any background info on him? (How he got into freestyle, who his coach is, who he trains with, etc.)
