  1. Past hour
  2. That's right, baby. Swimming is back. Tough start for the Americans as two swimmers dropped out due to illness and a third dropped out of an individual event to focus on a relay. Apparently during training camp in Thailand several swimmers got sick. But the highlights of tonight's (tomorrow morning - it is in Singapore) are the women's 400 Free with Katie Ledecky the fastest in the prelims, but Sumer MacIntosh just set the world record at the Canadian trials. Should be tasty. The men's 4x100 Free relay also features today. The US will be pushed hard by Italy.
  3. Make all TDs worth less if you want more of them.
  4. Snopes says your political theater too: snopes: found no credible reporting about FIFA seriously considering relocating U.S.-hosted World Cup matches outside the U.S https://www.snopes.com/news/2025/06/03/fifa-moving-2026-world-cup-trump/?utm_source=chatgpt.com
  5. Yes, someone could win 2-1, 3-1, with no TDs but that would be in my 1 TD category. It would only be three or more points that is not captured. And those have to be so rare as to be a rounding error. The analysis was only for NCAA tournament matches so the number of matches was nearly identical in the two periods.

  7. I think the problem is that a lot of takedowns are scored on counters, so guys are afraid to take a bad shot then get countered and now you give up 3. In theory a way around that would be to award less points for a takedown that isn’t off your own shot, but not sure I want that, I think that’s venturing into the subjectivity of FS and the “who initiated the move” stuff which I don’t like.
  8. Surprised not to see Gilcher at 157 - any updates on him?
  9. I’m not sure how often it happened, but worth noting IMO that even prior to the 3 point takedown, someone could have won and scored more than 1 point without getting a takedown. Also can you confirm the total number of matches is comparable between 2022-2023 and 2024-2025? I can’t remember if more teams were still wrestling less matches in 2022 since it was the first year after the “free year.”
  10. So does Lock Haven take redemption stories as coaches too?
  11. Would be worth going back and checking out Leblancs resume. Didn’t do him a ton of justice here considering he went from 0 qualifiers to 5 in one season. Big transfers landing there every season, also program was in shambles before he showed up. Out placed Campbell and UTC to be second in the conference last year. He’s the real deal
  12. The best response would be to disappear for ever...
  13. He gave Ben 10% credit. That's about right...
  14. This thread still makes me laugh. Woke fixed Baltimore. Bahahahahahahahahha
  15. askren beat pendleton also. odd you left that out.
  16. I think at 141 it is Hughes if he is healthy. Does Jamison try to go to 141 again. I hope not as he is cutting to much weight to get there and I think that explains his weak showings at the NCAAs. I think they redshirt Vega. If I am right at 141, then 149 is battle between Jamison and Swiderski. Does loser try to go to 157. 157 is interesting. We have 3 quality 149 pounders, Jamison, Swiderski, and Travis. Travis has gone up in past, but I think he is weakest of 3. Also have top recruit Robideau who is true 157 pounder. I agree with other weight classes with one possible change. Could Lockett make 157 (wrestled 163 in freestyle this summer). Then put Facundo at 165, Ryder at 174, and Thompson at 184. Part of question is how good is Thompson now after poor showing in 2023/4. All indications are that is not the way things are going to play out.
  17. Were you silenced while typing this?
  18. TBar, there you are.

  20. It has been 1 month since the article was published on June 26. No comment from Starocci, Cael, or anyone from Penn State. We had Mineo say Carter is no longer part of NLWC, but looking for that tweet and it looks like he deleted it. Shocking. Maybe it is isn't true. Are we surprised by the silen

  22. Like what? Some of them haven't played out yet. I still see the bond market tanking further and Trump caved on the tariffs which brought stock market back. The dollar is still down about 10% since inauguration, which is dramatic. I also said inflation would re accelerate and were seeing exactly that.
  23. Takahashi/Carr/Burroughs all wrestle extremely similar and own the only wins over Mitchell since he got to PSU.
  24. While you’re holding your breath, think of how many dire predictions you’ve made that were wrong?
  25. This is one of my favorite Sports Illustrated articles ever. I still have the original copy somewhere. For those who may not remember, MLB went on strike in August of 1994 and the season was cancelled. This article filled in what might have happened. It's kind of fictional and whimsical, but still pretty good writing. https://www.si.com/mlb/2014/08/12/si-vault-1994-mlb-season-players-strike
  26. Still waiting for DOJ to press charges against him...holding my breath...lmao.
  27. I don't see what that has to do with hosting a handful of soccer games. FIFA doing that has to do with Trump not allowing certain fans and certain countries to come here to play.
