  2. It's amazing how Iowa fans like the pastry are twisting themselves into knots that Bassett "looked good" losing. He's going to look "great" in college then when he can't physically bully other wrestlers. Now the pastry is pointing out that Mirasola only had pushouts on Mocco as a slam on Mirasola instead of the fact that a non-physical heavyweight was able to physically manhandle their other prized recruit.

  4. You are in the minority of Iowa fans, Caveira.
  5. Agree 100%. But I just wanted to point out to Mr. Pastry that Bassett looked good against everyone who has little to no college resume. The only person he wrestled who has a respectable college resume, kind of put it on him. Yes, I know Bassett is still only a junior in HS, but he's got work to do.
  6. Push outs suck. I think Mendez won by a lot of push outs in one of his matches.
  7. Stanich's shot defense was/is next level, we saw that in both his semis and finals matches...what Bassett needs to work on as he gets ready for college (take this observation with a grain of salt. I was nowhere near the level of wrestler he is) is his mid match tactics and adjustments. He seemed to try to stick to the same gameplan in the finals and I think it cost him.
  8. Not against Stanich.
  9. Yeah, maybe Luke can convince Spencer to have the match at a catch weight. Good thinking!
  10. Not a fan of him but shouldn't Knox be on this list? He just tf the field at U20
  11. So are you saying that Mirasola wouldnt be able to enter the portal even if he wanted to?
  12. He wrestled 65 kg this weekend. I don't see him cutting an addition 18.3 lbs, making it on a consistent basis, and being any kind of effective.
  13. At 1 time during his HS career Keyonte was ranked the #1 hwt. in USA
  14. this whole thread is gaslighting
  15. Let's do some math: Jayden James, who is in the same 2026 class at Bo Bassett, wrestled in the U17 class and has three years of U20 eligibility starting next year. Bo Bassett, conversely, has only one year of U20 eligibility remaining. Melvin Miller, a *sophomore*, aged out of U17 and has to wrestle U20. Think about that.
  16. Bassett and Miller looked very good though
  17. Iowa fans have long clamored for a pushout rule in folkstyle. Well in Mocco vs Mirasola the wrestler who scored all the takedowns lost and the wrestler who won scored all his points on pushouts. Putting aside that the Iowa recruit lost, did Iowa fans enjoy seeing a match decided by who was better at pushouts?
  18. Today
  19. Duke looked quite a bit bigger than Miller to me, I wonder if his days at 70kg (and 157 in folk) are numbered.
  20. Oklahoma State had a great showing with a commit winning SRs and another winning U20. Cornell, Minnesota, Lehigh, ASU and Oregon St all snagged U20 golds. Illinois joined the party with an U17 winning gold. Penn State won 2 SR, 4 U20 and 1 U17. Iowa was blanked across the board.
  21. I thought this was about Luke losing weight.
  22. Miller is a better prospect than Bassett. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Junior range allows kids to be from 17-20. Melvin was the only HS sophomore competing to my knowledge.
  24. if you're not wrestling U17 and you are wrestling U20.... do the math.
