  1. Yeah, it's tough to make an informed prediction on how he will transition to MMA. We have no knowledge of any training in striking or submission grappling. And while he was a better folkstyle wrestler than Chandler and Woodley, he has a very unconventional style that doesn't lend itself to MAA (if he leaves his face out there like he does his right leg in wrestling, it won't work out so well). Plus those two guys are/were better at MMA than they were are wrestling. Askren was a far better wrestler than all of them, but I would say Woodley and Chandler are/were better fighters than Askren. High level wrestling success doesn't seem to be any stronger of a predictor of MMA success than a solid wrestling background.
  2. It's rather complex and most of us have little actual legal knowledge, so wouldn't be surprising for someone to stumble over that facts. But that doesn't mean that nothing potentially illegal happened. Above is a video to clear it up for you. It's absurd that some folks can just shrug their shoulders over what happened in Jan. 6th as well as Trump's actions leading up to it.
  3. In John Madden voice: "Well, you see, he won by scoring more points than his opponent did."
  4. Lee had both knees done, and has had one done before. Using Yianni as any kind of baseline for Lee's recovery and what his season should look like competition-wise this year would be ridiculous.
  5. I've seen bumper/window stickers on lifted pickups with 8" exhaust pipes sticking vertically out of the bed, spewing black smoke that indicate some conservatives feel that way. They aren't the type with the mental capacity to make arguments re the environmental impact or benefits of electric vs petroleum, however.
  6. Not really sure how that's relevant. Lee has a history of knee issues and recovery and rehab can't vary greatly. We don't know if Lee's healing has been slower or if he had any setbacks. Or if there is cause for just taking it as slow as possible given his history.
  7. I may be reading into their comments a bit, but it sounds like they are saying he needs more matches to have any chance at getting in shape. I want to see him wrestle, but don't think that should be his priority. Pick and choose select opportunities and build him up, I say. It's going to be very difficult to build a gas tank on 1 match per month come early March.
  8. Sure, live wrestling in the room is part of conditioning. We don't know how much of that he is doing or will be able to do. But people are claiming he needs more official matches to get in shape. He needs to prioritize getting in shape in the room over getting official matches.
  9. I'd say you do 95+% of your conditioning outside of matches. Senior level guys get in shape and only wrestling a single tournament every few months (same goes for combat sports like boxing and MMA). There's benefits to getting a feel for live matches that count ahead of the big dance, but if Lee's knees can't handle that conditioning training, he's not going to benefit from wrestling a lot of scheduled matches.
  10. You don't get in shape wrestling matches. It can certainly help overall condition, but if his knees are not good enough for conditioning work during training, wrestling every match on the Hawkeyes schedule isn't going to make that big of a difference. I would figure they focus on low impact conditioning work to get him in shape and then pick and choose a limited slate of duals and tournaments to get the feel of live matches and get him more comfortable with his knees.
  11. 1. He clearly didn't write that, or have a hand in writing it, other than blurting out nonsense while his speech writers tried to tune him out to get their work done. 2. He doesn't believe in free speech, he believes his lies (alternative facts) should go unchecked and unquestioned. If he had the ability he would go Russia/China level censorship of any criticism against him.
  12. NFTs are perfect for a scam artist like Trump. Most of the people who buy them will probably sit by the mailbox waiting for them to show up. It's even easier money for him than the whole "build the wall" BS.
  13. Most of us thought that in 2016, too.
  14. Why do they give these additional weight allowances if they are truly concerned about the dangers of excessive cutting? As a competitor, it is certainly welcomed, but if these guys can't make the weight multiple days in a row, perhaps that's not the weight they should be wrestling.
  15. What year did you get vaccinated? And what year did those various covid policies begin? Trump voters seem to have no problem.
  16. Virtually everything he said or tweeted was a verifiable lie (aka "alternative fact"), including most of his criticism of the media. Wait.......what?????
  17. What exactly is Trump referencing that "allows" for the termination of all rules including the Constitution? Because I can assure you that it is not written in the Constitution itself or any other legal code. The only place that says that is an option is the comment he just made. And I can also assure you that false accusations of voter fraud, which are also all based around his BS comments, do not allow for terminating the Constitution. I still see no question mark. He is making a statement that the Constitution can be completely thrown out in order to reinstate him.
  18. Smart people have also looked into the fraud question. And fraud did not contribute to the outcome of the election, so the redo question is moot.
  19. I had to giggle at Woods not knowing where Iowa was written on the singlet during his parade around the mat.
  20. "A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution." I must be missing the question mark.
  21. His supporters believe the constitution reads " We the people have the right to bear arms. The end. - Herbie Hancock"
  22. I've been wondering what happened to him and must have missed any news. What's the deal? He's just decided he doesn't want to compete anymore?
  23. I'll concede that he's conceded, and perhaps conceited.
  24. University towns are democratic hubs, no doubt. But you are implying that the universities and their professors are pushing a liberal agenda through their curriculum. Which is utter nonsense.
  25. I fall between the young and the old. While I agree that young folks don't know how much they don't know, the old folks also don't realize that their experiences from the same age are largely irrelevant today. Let's call it "back in my day" syndrome.
