  1. I’ve been drinkin for a lot of years, but I haven’t take the pledge yet. Not telling anyone how old I am.
  2. Liam. To Nebraska from Hoosiers
  3. Well seems you got your answer. Kind of like, are there any Purdue fans on here? This is pretty much a top 5-7 team forum. If you want to converse, that is , get a conversation going, it better be in regards to one of the top 3,4,5 squads in the country.
  4. Not as bad as you think. Harder on the fans than the participants. I’m thinking an overnight stay would be in order, for the participants, just like the Friday afternoon-Saturday morning at Indy. Plus, the sweet drive on I-69, knocking off at least 30-40 minutes from the Fort or region,to get there. When I go to state in Indy as a fan on Friday, I come back home, then go back Saturday morning. If at Evansville I wouldn’t go Friday. I think attendance will go down from that standpoint ,but that’ll probably be ok because of the more limited seats ,at Ford,to sit in anyway ..
  5. I’m Not in the know how it is run. Here in Indiana, as pointed out in another thread, the wrestling state tournament,is one of the best high school events in the country.
  6. That’s what the rumor is. Should be a tough ticket to get ,if it does land in the river city.
  7. You’re right, it is the boys own choosing. And I ,like you ,have nothing in it. This is why we have, in the D1 level, only 4or 5 schools with a chance to win every year. Saying 4 or 5 maybe a Stretch. It’s a shame to me ,for many reasons and on many levels.
  8. Offers from these big name coaches are hard to turn down, from the starry eyed kids in high school. A lot ride the pine ,all four years ,as practice dummies. And probably have to pay for their own education. I’m sure they get better ,but never have the chance to make a name for themselves, a shame as far as I’m concerned.
  9. Indiana’s depth is not there yet. But they continue to get after it every dual. They have from the very start of Escabedos takeover. Last year was a step back and didnt look good. I don’t know what was going on but they are back to more normal this year. Recruiting is still the stickler, as it is for all lower tiered programs. The elite school kids seek out winners college programs, that won’t change. Winning cures most ailments.
  10. Alred could be a bracket buster.
  11. Another guy on fire is Alred. He took it up a notch or two from the beginning of the season. Man he is strong. I’m thinking it’s a confidence thing.he’s Just getting to his potential.
  12. He may not win it ?but who ever wrestles him will know he’s in a fight.
  13. Pinto still my favorite
  14. Is this what qualifies as a” beat down “ ? Man, bring back Pennsylvania State! I think we’re ready now.
  15. Evidently ,not according to all the top coaches in D1. It’s the new normal. So maybe they are on to something. Ask them not me.
  16. Well ,one of , if not the greatest spectacle in high school sports , the Indiana state wrestling final, ended tonight. Announced over 33,000 attended the 2 day, Friday and Saturday event. What a show.
  17. As does the 149 match. Castillo for Chattanooga and G. Rooks for Indiana. Castillo won their only meeting last year. This is going to be a good teams match up ,if the starters can and will wrestle.
  18. Man , good match. Hard to get this far. Great season.
  19. In Indiana several small schools get several wrestlers to state. That’s the cool part about one class
  20. I’m really starting to get a complex on here. Thanks for the encouragement!
  21. My post about Indiana university, to the bottom of the first page on here. !
  22. Total schools, not sure. Good question. The individual championship is state sponsored. The team championship is divided in classes and is not part of the IHS AAA, governing body.
  23. This weekend. Interesting matchup at 174lb Donnel Washington (I) and Rocky Jordan (C). Last time they met was in 2019! 4-3 Washington. How time flies. I kind of lost where Rocky ended up , but looks like he is doing ok at 174lb.
  24. I never said the decision was to be made by 15-18 year olds. Nice troll job thought. lol
  25. So classing system doesn’t help you guys. And I’m sure there are others. This is what I mean. There are so many different outliers, examples, for each side of the argument that really the only way to see ,would be to change to a classed individual system ,and let it work through for a couple of years, and then compare, apples to apples. And to me there in lies a problem. If The 2 or 3 year experiment was not solving all the arguments ,that was said it would, or create the results of a pro classed system, I know that it would never go back to one class, regardless.
