  1. To answer your question above, as I said from the very start, he was not convicted of any criminal charge. He lost a defamation lawsuit, from in which, the jury had found there was an assault. The differences are pretty significant. In this case he lost five million dollars. If it were a criminal case, he would have been found guilty, as you initially stated, he would be in jail, and permanently have a sexual assault conviction on his record. The differences between a civil trial and a criminal trial are readily available in many a many a book. Read one.
  2. That’s an awful lot of quoting the same post. But….sorry, he wasn’t convicted of anything. He was found liable for defamation. In order to decide on defamation, they had to decide if they believe he assaulted her. Which, they did. There was no conviction on the table. Sorry. So yeah, educate yourself, in a civil trail, there are no convictions. he wasn’t convicted of sexual assault. As much as it pains me to ‘defend’ his terms, they are accurate. You are not.
  3. I am no fan of trump, that’s been well documented here. But….wrong. He did not face a criminal charge of sexual assault to be convicted.
  4. The thing I like about Maher is that while he is indeed a leftist, he has no problem calling out equally left or right. (Or at least that used to be the case, his show is waaaaaaay past my bed time now.)
  5. Some people don’t appreciate taking one context across topics.
  6. Come ooooon. You know better. You know it has zero effect on their future usage.
  7. So, when you ‘correct’ them, you believe that your are changing their ways, and that is the last time they will ever use ‘you guys’ again?
  8. That makes no sense. Don’t know if a person is male so automatically give them a female moniker. Combined with you only give names to people you are at issue with. I had kinda assumed it was something to make you feel better about yourself. Bringing in your job again combined with those other two factors helped to confirm. Appreciate ya.
  9. Which leads me to another question: what is it you feel you are accomplishing with the names, ma’am, etc?
  10. I mean, I don’t know about all that storm front or whatever. But…yeah…it is in fact okay to be white. Another question: why do you always feel the need to give us your resume?
  11. That’s my point. The words are meaningless. ‘Saying’ does nothing. It’s the actions.
  12. When I said no one I was referring to people engaging here on this platform. Across the entirety of the United States, I agree ‘no one’ would not be accurate. The rest of the post however is my point. Saying MAGA and truly meaning make America great are not the same thing.
  13. No one is against the idea of making America great again. It’s the perspective of what makes America great that is being challenged. It’s also the idea that just because someone is wearing or hat, or standing at the podium in congress like it’s a stripper pole, belting ‘we are ultra maga” doesn’t mean they are really working to make American great. Then there’s the idea that America is still great, tremendously great. Not perfect but…
  14. I never understood people’s problem with fact checking, other than those are the people that are really much more interested in the narrative than the truth. Can there be any other reason someone would have a problem with other people seeking out to see if something is actually true?
  15. Yeah, that tends to happen a good bit when you’re a congressman. When you need to be elected to maintain your job, public opinion is kind of a ……thing.
  16. I know a congresswoman was attempting to subpoena him while this was going through that process of the related bill, but of course that subpoena was blocked by the committee chair.
