Maybe we should eliminate the pin as well. You shouldn't be able to end the match so easily against such a high level opponent just by achieving a dominant position that could end the match. That's basically the logic against the leg lace.

Oh I visit a few times a week, I just tend not to engage. You don't have to look too hard to understand why.

When you are competing against the best in the world.......it's not 'that easy'. If you have wrestled to that position, you have earned that position.

Just curious but how do you leave the guy who is number one in total medals, number one in total olympic medals, and tied for number one in olympic gold off?

It 'used to be' a number of things. There was the one gut, one lace at a time rule. Even that rule was modified between no two in succession not matter where in the match, and the modifier that a break in the action opens the ability to gut/lace again. There was the must break the lock and return to defensible (kind of like tilts in folkstyle) era. There was also the must hit an elbow for two...hand to hand is one. And all of that just to circled back to where we are now......just go. Must change direction on the leg lace isn't really an option. Once you have the lace locked up there's only one direction to go. You can't get the leverage and pressure in their shins to go the other direction.

But we're loving that no hurricane life.....eh!!!

I'm sure has a lot to do with the significant difference in maintaining a weight class through a college season schedule, and making a weight a few times, a few months apart

I don’t always agree with jross’ takes or approach, although at the core we are probably closer aligned than realize….but he definitely expresses his own thoughts. There’s a difference between linking to reference your thoughts, and doing nothing more than copy and paste all over the place instead of being able to articulate your own thoughts. What I find interesting about the starting of this thread as it relates to here is the vast majority who, and yourself included, only concern themselves and focus on the stupidity on the “other side”, as if it doesn’t exist and/or doesn’t matter the stupidity on “their side”. It’s a cult mentality where most people just accuse other people or the other side of the same shit they or their side are doing….but it’s only visible to them from the other side. So much to the point that calling out your own is seen as sitting on some mythical fence.

Example A: An infant’s life is ended, without having the ability to experience life outside the womb or make any decisions for themselves, based on the decision of one maybe two people. Example B: A murder is committed. An investigation ensues. The investigation leads to an arrest. A trial ensues, where the arrested is able to see all the evidence against them, is able to defend him/herself against all accusers and argue all evidence. A public jury rules them guilty. Years of appeals of the case automatically ensue next. After those are all exhausted, the ten + year process culminates in the carrying out of the judicial ruling. If you’re trying to argue those two scenarios are comparable, it has nothing to do with stance on abortion or death penalty, it also has nothing to do with reason or logic. It’s simply someone starting a thread so they can bitch about people who believe something different.

Trying to put abortion and the death penalty on a comparable plane is beyond stupid. To answer the question, no I don’t think they should live steam it. Public execution isn’t our vibe.

Highlighted the specific points I'm speaking to... we used to de better in Greco when everyone still wrestled Greco and free growing up… years ago a ton of kids did not even start wrestling folk until high school… I wrestled in college but did not wrestle any greco after HS. I still can guarantee I wrestled more, probably double, the number of greco matches (and free as well) throughout my life than folk. Throw in how USAW started pushing folk tourneys and now kids can wrestle the shit style year round and you get an entire generation of wrestlers and “fans” who are just ignorant and scared of Greco… You can literally follow the timeline of USAW's dive into and push of folkstyle wrestling, and see the result in USA Greco slide directly coincide with this timeline. our Greco guys in the US were all very good wrestlers coming up they just chose Greco because they liked it better… was just asked yesterday If you had to go back and change something what would it have been...I immediatley said would have went into the air force out of high school to wrestle greco.

Ehhh….trashed their rights….OR followed legal procedure that had significant, and recent, precedent. One thing for sure, they didn’t like it. What I found interesting is that in the four hours of testimony, not one senator tried to dispute the facts Smith discovered in his investigations, they just attacked him over something that had legal precedent. Well, and tried to trap him in a gotcha “where’s Waldo” scheme that backfired tremendously. I wonder why that is?

What I always remember most, and what I think honors the victims and spirit of American most, is how we all came together after that (for awhile) and remembered that we are all Americans, not in spite of our differences, but because of our differences. We weren’t leftists or commies or libtards or wingers or nazi’s or magat’s……we were Americans that knew coming together and fighting for the greater good was the only way through. I wish we could honor the spirit of America every day, instead of when the calendar dictates. One can keep hope.

I would agree with far most of that, with the caveat that I think when it comes to free passage, context is needed to differentiate protest from riot. For example. If a group is sitting in the street blocking traffic, keeping their hands to themselves, not throwing shit at cars, etc…they are protesting. And I also believe in that situation you get what you earn, so if someone gets out of their car and drags you to the sidewalk so they can get through…well….that just happened. However if you’re standing in the middle of the street pointing a weapon, now there’s the fear or threat of physical harm, or throwing shit at the cars, now you’re rioting. I’m not sure I agree with the premeditated part. I mean, pretty much all protests are planned ahead of time, I don’t think being planned makes it a riot. To your last question, I think any event that crosses the line into rioting, that is then a riot. But that doesn’t mean everyone on scene was rioting. Let’s take for example the summer of 2020 scene, and Jan 6 (two events people on both sides like to what about each other so much). In both instances…..definitely riots. But there were people in both instances who were just protesting, not rioting. To me the difference is in your engagement. If you follow the people that broke the windows into the building, you’re part of the riot. If you stood outside and watched people go into the building, and didn’t cause any damage to person or property, you’re protesting. I think a lot of people gauge the difference based on whether or not they agree with the cause, or like the people who engaging, and their opinion of riot or protest has little to nothing to do with the actual context of engagement. If they don’t like it, they forget all about the fact that a core foundation of our country is protest. May or may not be that those same people have difficulty on discussing thre difference between the two.

Well, I had a little hope you would be able to show some capability of a genuine sincere conversation, along with some level of hope you’d show you are able to form and express your own opinion without being told what to be mad at.
