  1. This has been brought up in other threads but watch the PSU/Iowa dual and look at their respective benches every time they are visible. Athletes, staff, coaches. The difference is stark. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Cunningham is VERY interesting. Not super dynamic at this point but that kid has an iron will. Reminds me a bit of Starocci and…his dad. He’s already much bigger than his mom’s frame + dad would suggest. I wonder if he can get up to 184 some day. He’s not done growing and is already at/above the weight class where his old man won an NCAA title. It’s kind of funny that the PSU guys refer to Casey as “the strongest man in the world” when it’s his wife who is, quite literally, an Olympic weight lifting gold medalist. 3. Facundo had a pretty good RS FR season, beating Amine and Kharchla. He had an unspecified injury prior to B1Gs and never looked the same. He’s done pretty well in FS this year. Qualified for the OTTs. Beat some good guys doing it, too. Speculation is that he’ll go 174, which gives Zack Ryder a chance to RS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. After that he yelled, like a crazy homeless person, “Not to put them on a pedestal!”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. From BEG: “Who ate more mat tonight: Franek or Schriever?” I missed the HWT match last night to attend to one of my kids. Watched it this morning. Kerk nearly put Kooter through the mat. That was wild. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The funny thing is that the Iowa radio crew was commenting on how Bartlett was just leaving his right leg out there. Like BB isn’t aware of that. Uh, yeah. He knows. He’s one of the best counter attackers in the country. He doesn’t panic when someone gets to his leg; he looks to score. Iowa is the complete opposite; they’d almost immediately belly out. Brooks, Haines and Starocci scored after being almost dead in the water on their opponents’ shots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yes, but the way he answered the question, during an embarrassing overall interview, was just terrible. The guy just can’t give a compliment to anyone that’s not on his team. It’s beyond him. Just say, “We’re not going to use Gabe this season.” Doesn’t give away the secret (Gabe’s hurt) but ends the stupid line of questioning for the year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I mean, who gives a rip if a kid in RS is hurt? Not saying it flippantly; I hope Arnold gets healthy but just answer the question, Tom. It’s not a state secret. It’s not like teams are plotting and scheming about how to beat Iowa based on whether or not Arnold is in the lineup. Penn State certainly doesn’t care. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yep. Ayala, 3x Rathjen, Caliendo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That’s the thing that always makes me take Carver results with a big ass grain of salt. Your opponent is likely under physical duress and hyperventilating before they even set foot on the mat. They likely get hit with a BS stall call or two. Maybe more. It’s almost like they get a multi-point head start. That completely vanishes at any other venue. That “advantage” and expectation from CHA becomes a hole elsewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. That doesn’t preclude the Iowa wrestlers improving. Just means they were out coached and out wrestled by their opponents. Who might have improved more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Going on a Pat Mineo rumor, to call out a guy who has never, ever ducked a tough opponent (see: his two years at 149 and matches against Yianni, Sasso, Lovett, Yahya, Parco, Blockhus, etc.) was particularly egregious. Penn State uses wrestling as a learning opportunity. Anyone who doesn’t get that by now isn’t paying attention. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Let’s just revisit how dumb this statement was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. It’s on YouTube in its entirety. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Tom Brands saying Tom Brands things after getting smoked at home: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. He’ll dive at a leg just to get the other guy to react. To create a wrestling position. It’s very unique. Got a duck from Caliendo’s front headlock. Was it Musukaev who does that? Wild. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The 10-10 match against Nick Lee, and beating Pletcher, Kolodzik and Joey McKenna on the same day don’t show you he’s improved over last year? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Aaron Brooks with the outside step at the NWCA was super slick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The many lungers he got because of blood time surely didn’t help with that… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Looks ripe for a JB-style blast double to the sternum or face. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. And SVN would’ve eaten Rathjen alive. Alas, next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hill is batting 0.73 before tonight. If/when he lost to Kerk, he’d be below the 70% auto qualifier threshold. And not likely to get back above it. Hint: he’d lose tonight and go then go 1-1 in his two remaining matches. He’d be 12-6. No slot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Pathetic by TNT. Take your beating and win more matches, Bradley Hill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I’m amazed at how many stalling calls Penn State has while beating the tar out of Iowa, at Iowa. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
