Bo Bassett Narrows His College List..........From 80 to 73
Le duke replied to RandolphTJones's topic in College Wrestling
Cherry picking from google: Virginia Tech is regarded as a “senior military college”, like VMI, TT, Citadel. 75% of the kids in the Corps of Cadets are on a military commission track, AKA ROTC scholarship. So, 25% of them are NOT, at any point, on scholarship. So, student loans, parents, etc. 1,200 enrolled in the Corps of Cadets out of 29,000 undergraduate students. Bo Bassett Narrows His College List..........From 80 to 73
Le duke replied to RandolphTJones's topic in College Wrestling
There were a boat load of kids who were in the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech who had no intention of going into the military after graduation. Which sounds absolutely ridiculous to me, unless they were getting a non-military funded scholarship to be in it. Talk about a total buzzkill during college. -
How Not to Behave As a Parent During a Wrestling Match
Le duke replied to Rassling's topic in College Wrestling
The guy looks like he might take some exogenous substances. Might be playing a part in his poor behavior. That said, the woman who goes onto the mat appears to be his wife and she’s jawing at the refs, too, so maybe they are just a family of shitheads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Do NOT Oppose Israel's Agenda Or THIS Will Happen

If the “evidence” he provides is not evidence for the point he’s trying to make (see Gavin Newsome post above), he should stop trying to make it something it’s not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Evidence the left is much more radicalized than the right

I’m guessing the people who are OK with it would be decidedly against me plastering my favorite verses from the Quran on the classroom walls. -

Alot of Buzz coming for New Associate HC at Rutgers
Le duke replied to feet2back's topic in College Wrestling
Yeah. Which makes me scratch my head and wonder why some of these guys would leave their current gigs for what is very much an unknown. Like, let's say that Snyder takes the Rutgers AHC job. If Goodale retires next year ( and I am not at all saying he would do this or has any interest, at all), someone like Jordan Burroughs could come in an snatch the HC job away from him. Seems to me he's a lot less likely to get snaked at Nebraska, being a young-ish-but-long-standing member of the staff, than a guy who is at Rutgers for a year (hypothetically) when the HC job opens up. -

A public university like Rutgers or Nebraska can't contractually guarantee anyone a position, can they? Don't they have to go through the normal hiring process? -
Ah. That season. My apologies. That said, load management, recovery, fitness management (aka, peaking) and all of the other portions of training an athlete are still the coaching staff's responsibility. If your marquee athlete is injury prone, you need to recognize that, and do what it takes to get him to the finish line. Not continue to pound his body into submission.

I hate to break it to you, but being sad about losing is not an injury.

What 3x champ did Iowa lose to injury?
-
Ayala at 125? I'd take Lilledahl. If he goes 133, as rumored, he could beat Nagao, sure. Parco isn't beating SVN. Arnold over Haines is laughable. He just lost twice to a high school kid who will be the Penn State 3rd string 174, if Haines goes that weight. Brands over Barr, I could see.

Because they fall apart more often than not. They were the #1 team at the start of 2022 and imploded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I used to live in an agricultural town. It was well known that the migrant farm workers, AKA “illegals”, paid into someone else’s SS. They literally made up an SSN for their tax forms and then had no chance of ever seeing any of the money they put in. And, they were happy to do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sammy sasso insinuates he will be competing again in recent IG post
Le duke replied to Truzzcat's topic in College Wrestling
It’s a nice thought but a 174lber Haines would break him in half and O’Toole is a better version of Sasso. Better at everything, and not nearly as counter-dependent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Also: Hobbs Kessler became the first American man to qualify for the 800/1500 combo since 1976. The number of people who attempt this is very, very small. The events are different enough that the guys at the very pointy end are pretty specialized. He’s only 21, too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

People on the old board gave me shit about nominating Starocci as the next likely 4 timer, particularly when he was just a RS FR, but I'll do it again: If they RS Mirasola this year, he's going to be an absolute terror for the next four years. Askren has coached him up very well but he's still pretty raw in some positions. I expect to see some gigantic leaps from what we saw at OTTs and U20 WTTs to his RS FR year. He's going to be rolling with Cael, Varner, Brooks and Snyder on the regular.
