  1. really interested to watch Wolbert this weekend. all the way up to 132/60kg. anyone know if this is his last year of Cadets (U17's) or does he have another go at it?
  2. This is also why women's wrestling is dead. and probably other sports (of both genders) as well going forward.
  3. what is 'detente' ? is that like how pasta is supposed to be done?
  4. your statements seem a bit contradictory. are you saying psu does the best job at assessing and recruiting the right guys or are you saying that they just buy them? even prior to the portal+NIL era, the narrative was (largely from the iowa fan base) that psu won because they got the best recruits. and, to me, i frankly don't care. you'd have a difficult time convincing me that any other staff would have had their batting average with those same recruits. and you'd have zero chance convincing me that anyone else would have matched their level of dominance - which has been historic - with those same guys.
  5. his brother Matt Ciasulli was about as good a hs wrestler that i've ever seen. He majored or teched Darrell Vazquez (maybe two years in a row) and Vazquez went on to be Cali's first 4xer. i used to go back to the room and watching him and mikey rogers practice was as entertaining as any wrestling ive ever watched in my life.
  6. nebraska really has a great culture right now. i dig it when a program has an era/period in which the team is really bonding and fighting for each other.
  7. anyone remember on the old boards when everyone called Jake Varner, "Jake Varnish"
  8. correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think Nagao qualifies for an Olympic Redshirt. did he have a past SR FS placing i'm forgetting about?
  9. I'm high on santaniello. but the problem with ranking him is that he hasn't wrestled elite competition in a while.
  10. everyone is overthinking this shit it's not the mats, nor the cleaning regime, nor what they were cleaned with. jfc.
  11. That is correct. Oliver Pierce who wrestled at Allen is the coach there now. Oliver was a staple in Fargo/Cadet Trials finals. Jerry Best, who coached him at Allen, kicked the Ferrari's out. when Pierce took the job and, simultaneously, things with Ferrari's went south in stillwater, Angelo went where Oliver had a new gig.
  12. Cadet Trials is huge. especially now that commitments happen earlier and earlier - Cadet Trials has become one of the biggest. Behind S32 but maybe that's it. perhaps now on par with Fargo. Consider that 37 of the Top 60 hs juniors are already committed.
  13. wasn't KJ at ISU for only a year?
  14. i'm not trolling here, i truly don't know... what was the bet Jimmy didn't follow thru on?
  15. gimme Ed Ruth instead of Carter (at least for the moment) Alger over some dude from the 40's that Cinnaboner credited with an extra title. Also consider Prescott (2xer) at 125 for PSU but he was small.
  16. Father Drew Feldman? a priest? i'm joking. but i sincerely have no idea what we're talking about here.
  17. 1) Michigan throwing money around has been here for awhile. (Suriano) 2) i don't think it stops any time soon 2A) I don't blame them. (this isn't criticism) 3. Griffith is a candidate to move up to 174 as well.
  18. which, coincidently, are the two teams confirmed to be recruiting AJ. I was told another school told Angelo they were interested in him and him only (of the brothers).
  19. interesting to note here that Davino registered for Cadet Trials at 60kg / 132lbs.
  20. Bernie says he wants to go 184 (which we all kinda knew). He also has a visit line up to a school (not named Penn St.) in two weeks
  21. McGowan told me (in December) he plans on 125 in college fwiw
  22. Burwick is wrestling at B1Gs
