  1. The entire legislature helped him retaliate. There is some banana republic type corruption going on in our country. Most of it seems to be the right.
  2. The left is laughing. Florida got played and is gonna keep getting played until 21 years after the last descendant of King Charles III (of England!) dies. No doubt the left can be vicious but I can't think of an analogous situation unfolding anywhere else. Anyone know of another situation where a state legislature and governor acted to retaliate against a company for public comments?
  3. This is unbelievable. A practicing lawyer is dismissed as a blow hard. During a legal discussion! And by someone who is comically convinced hurricanes are the cause of insurance collapse!
  4. Not hard to find anything on the internet. When National Public Radio becomes Neoliberal Propaganda Radio, you know you are in the right place!
  5. Interesting, this MSM concept. According to most who don't like MSM, pretty much the only thing not MSM is considered bat shit crazy by everyone else. Sort of a self own, but not self-aware enough to realize it.
  6. Lots of movement at twitter. Was the NY Times the only one to lose their checkmark?
  7. I haven't been there in decades, but I recall a pleasant experience. Food was ok. I grew up in the country, so the idioms and trite expressions were fun. They had puzzles at the table, which I prefer over conversation
  8. Disney was highly critical of the "Don't Say Gay" legislation. Primarily because of the criticism it received from its own employees. In response to that, the Fla legislation had a special session and passed legislation to dissolve the Reedy Creek district. That was a dud because Disney pointed out the people of Fla would be on the hook for a billion in debt. So, they redid it to effectively take control via a board of directors appointed by DeSantis himself. That board exists and is chock-full very vocal anti-gay people. In the background, DeSantis screams "No Woke! No Woke! No Woke!", which is a major part of his political agenda. DeSantis personally orchestrated a cynical million dollar photo op transporting unwitting immigrants from TEXAS to an island 7 miles off the coast of Massachusetts. DeSantis is responsible for the insurance debacle because it is a critical issue for the people of Florida and he is their governor. That is self-explanatory. Florida has a huge government insurance program. Regulation plays a major role in insurance. Florida just passed a huge insurance bill. Maybe his policies and legislation will be effective and relieve their crisis. He will be judged on it one or the other. No one can be so naive as to think predictable weather events aren't or shouldn't be factored into insurance costs and expenditures. This is the entire purpose of insurance! Everyone knows hurricanes are going to hit Florida. That includes insurance companies - both public and private.
  9. It is also possible that people push and pass legislation in order to forward a hateful narrative. Some people might even use legislation as a mechanism to draw attention to themselves and their own political ambitions. Hell, some use actual, living human beings as unwitting props to loudly and publicly push their narrative. Life is complicated. Much like insurance and hurricanes. Maybe second term DeSantis has fixed the property insurance issues in FLA. Hope so since he bears responsibility. If people think hurricanes are the source of FLA property insurance debacles, they don't understand geography, history, insurance or the purpose of insurance.
  10. DeSantis has major issues. He will have to tone his anti-gay rhetoric way down to succeed with independents. That has been key to his 'anti-woke' success, so not an easy task. Short term, he has a lot of Disney egg on his face. They make him look dumb as a post. His ownership of the Florida legislature may enable midstream rule changes to save some face there. Also could have his policies and actual work as a governor, or lack thereof, exposed. The property insurance in Florida is a shambles, so he better give thoughts and prayers to no hurricanes for a couple of seasons.
  11. Two octogenarians are the repeat front runners for POTUS. Nothing wrong with this society!

Merging sports with sports entertainment? Sketchy. Throw in slap fighting and it is a YIKES from me, dawg.
  13. Happy Indictment Day!
  14. Diarra is a West African name, which explains the arrest. #BLM

  16. Do you understand what the event was? Do you understand the evidence against him with respect to that?
  17. Cowboys with three finishes!
  18. Also laughable here is that all of the meta info stamped on the CCTV video produced by Tucker and other biased folks is cropped out. It is transparently propaganda, but people simply don't care about truth. Only narrative.
  19. They caught him red handed. From multiple angles. This case is open and shut. There is video of him actually committing the crime for which he plead guilty. It is immaterial what happened afterwards.
  20. They have evidence of him actually committing the crime. Court doesn't need to care what happened AFTER the crime was committed. This is open and shut. Dude is guilty. OMG, crazy town. I think we are witnessing the birth of a conspiracy theory.
  21. Dude literally says in open court that he is guilty and accepts the punishment of his plea deal. Not good enough!!!
  22. I'm lost. He entered the capitol through a broken door in order to stop the active, ongoing process to complete our nation's presidential election. He used a megaphone to organize and encourage others to do the same. He and the other insurrectionists were successful in suspending that process. He plead guilty to that. He was sentenced accordingly. Technically, there was a plea of guilty and not a conviction. He adjudicated to the satisfaction of all. What is the problem?
  23. I said the opposite of that. It has been happening since the first organization of anything. Trump is not the first corrupt politician, won't be the the last and probably not the most egregious. He is unique all the same, mostly because he has an aggressive divide and conquer political strategy. Also agree Trump won't go to jail. Forced to believe at least one jury member would refuse to convict under any circumstance. Party before country, justice and everything else. At least one jury member would continue to support him even if they personally saw him shoot someone on 5th avenue in broad daylight. I do agree that all should be held accountable. The Biden's are under political investigation now and have been for years. I'm not crying. Also, I think presidents, former presidents and even presidential candidates should be held to a high standard. This is a political prosecution in a manner of speaking. However, given the status of Cohen lets not pretend there isn't a high likelihood of guilt.
