  1. He has 25,000 experienced, battle hardened soldiers in his command. He has full scale and modern weaponry. He just rolled - not only unopposed but actively joined by the Russian army - to within 120 miles of Moscow proper. The Russian army is obviously preoccupied elsewhere. That dude isn't going anywhere.
  2. I'm sitting here with my old pal Joey Biden even as we speak. He laughed and laughed. Said he wasn't anywhere near there. He also chuckled and said he couldn't blame someone for trying to make money off him, since politics and payola make the world go 'round. Then he gave me a big toothy grin, held up his glass of Whistlepig and said "Hell, people pay us big money just to play a round of golf with them or make a few remarks at a dinner. Helluva world, ain't it?"
  3. For those who share the opinion poor parenting drives shootings, what distinguishes parenting in the USA from a peer country such as the UK, Australia or Canada?
  4. For reference, 2nd amendment reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” IMO, a precise clarification of 'Arms' is desperately needed.
  5. Well, there is no flavoring - assuming my understanding of a botanical gin is accurate.
  6. They didn't taste all that similar to me. No worm and they are made from different plants. I bought it on a whim and was pleasantly surprised to find it resembles a spirit distilled in Ghana, which I enjoy with friends.
  7. Not all that passionate, but I do enjoy spirits. Tullamore Dew and Jameson's are good for me. Basil Hayden's is a good, reasonably priced bourbon. For something different, Sotol is pretty tasty.
  8. The USA is unique in the world in many ways, one of which is mass shootings. Why?
  9. Spot on. Too many tragedies to name. They keep building, each less emotionally impactful than the last. They are becoming normalized. All the blood of hundreds of children and more than 1 mass shooting a day for decades can't overcome the unique culture that enables it.
  10. Yes, but those are all disassembled.
  11. Take a hard pass. Very high chance their customers get stiffed.
  12. I like interstates.
  13. Rat bastard is doubling down.
  14. Modelo is definitely better, so Bud Light will not get this market share back. Advantage Mexico. Ironically, looks like LGBTQ tolerance is wide spread there and yet they get the cancel culture money.
  15. My man - context matters. A 6 year old shot his teacher with his mother's illicit gun. Not much to investigate. Assuming guilt, what do you think HB should get for this crime? Gun ownership ban? Fine? Prison? Execute him with said gun and charge the "big guy" for the bullet? IMO, it is not going to be much. Also, according to my estimation of the intersection of drug users and gun owners, this law has generated 10s of millions of criminals.
  16. Speaking of change. You are an internet tough guy, perhaps the toughest I've ever run across. So you are savvy and have embraced the change of meaning for that hand gesture, correct?
  17. The problem with our society is the sizable minority who reject change.
  18. This is one odd conversation. I don't care about the Miss SF competition. Dollars to doughnuts you don't either. But you do care about the sexuality of the competitors. I don't. Of course, the Miss SF pageant isn't a sport. But it is analogous to a sport in that it is a competition. It has competitors. You care about what the competitor(s) is or isn't rather than the competition - which you probably don't actually care about anyway. Weird that it is on your radar. How did it get there if you don't mind my asking? As far as women and men in sports go - the question was and is - do you throw snark at women who compete with men? I feel it is better to respect the people that put it on the line.
  19. It is a competition. It has competitors. One of them won fair and square. You are throwing snark. It is pointless. I don't know how many times I heard ridicule for girls when they competed against boys in wrestling. From coaches because there is "no honor in beating a girl", boys are in a no-win situation, for religious reasons.... There is no end to it.
  20. Do you apply this snark to women competing with men in sports?
  21. I see I made a mistake in the title. Surprised one of the village pedants didn't catch it. He won't be arrested, only indicted. Also, George Santos' bond suretors weren't required to put up a single red cent of $500k. That brings us back to the uneven nature of the justice system, but of course it is not left and right. Duh, it is rich and poor. On charges this serious, Trump should be required to fork over his passport and fly commercial.
  22. He did nothing illegal.
  23. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Trump's lackey has been indicted on related charges.
  24. Cornell should just become a real university. For starters they need to get a FB team, a police blotter and some credible SA allegations.
