He should have said "is certainly NOT"
-
Wrestling is a conservative leaning sport. It's not "red state", because politics in the US is not just red state/blue state. In every state, the large concentration of blue voters reside in the cities, while the red voters are in the suburbs and rural areas. The latter is where the wrestlers and their families live.

Good God! What an exaggeration. Gable is certainly NOT the #1 HWT FS wrestler in the world. He probably wasn't that in the year that he won the Olympics. He had a good day. Geno Petriashvili choked bigly, and Gable did not face Iran. And if you disagree, that's great. Keep in mind that that gold medal was in the 2020 Olympics, which I believe took place in 2021. Since 2021, Gable Steveson has NOT competed in senior men's freestyle. How can you say he's the #1 HWT FS wrestler? Memories, pressed across the pages of my mind Memories, sweetened through the ages just like wine Your memories of Gable as Olympic Champ do NOT make him #1. Other heavies have been developing. Do you think Gable made a lot of progress in his freestyle wrestling since 2021?

He won't see Masoumi, not this year anyway. Masoumi can't get past Zare, who is still pretty young and will probably represent Iran for a few more years. Don't worry, though. He can't beat Zare either.

Hamiti goes full Sanderson on Haines, via David Taylor.

Ruiz over Pinto in the consis at 174. You never thought as a PSU fan that you would care about Nebraska guys losing on the back side, but I guess every point will be counting here.

Coaches who should be in the hot seat after NCAAs

Jimmy says Cael Sanderson after this implosion. Coach Cody is ready to take over. -
A 10AA implosion according to Jimmy.
-
I think he will pull through there. He's up against Swisher, #14 seed from Penn.

Absolutely. He is a dork, and he keeps doubling down, and PSU keeps proving him wrong. He reacts will glee when Lightning Luke and Davis go down and predicts that Barr and Kerk will also lose. When Barr MAJORS Beard, not a peep out of him. When Kerk rolls, not a peep out of him. Jimmy, this is the NCAA Championship Tournament. Everyone is tough. Top seeds like Luke lose tough matches at times. He could still wrestle back for third and score more team points. Davis performed better than most expected, especially you, who predicted, I believe, an "0-2 barbecue". I'm pleased to see that guys who looked injured in the B10/B12 tourneys like Barr and Hendrickson are looking pretty healthy now. I watched O'toole's interview after his come-back win in the round of 16 and he is obviously hampered by his injuries; he said it openly. It could affect his performance. All well-deserved props to Nebraska for an excellent performance. Turn up the heat. The semis are here.

It would be infinitely more interesting to discover who the OLDEST poster here on the forums is. I'm 62.

Ryan has certainly adopted strange pronouns.

He's not the same wrestler at 61kg either, what with the drubbing Ono gave him.

How long has Otoguro been at the Hawkeye Wrestling Club rolling with Spencer? At least a month. He comes from the same room as Ono, and they trained with the same coach. Spencer is very familiar with Ono's offense. The question is can he stop it? Ono seems to have more speed, but Spencer has more strength. It should be a great match.

What are the chances Ono enrolls at Penn State?

Delusional in so many ways! -
Actually, it means that there is actually an American wrestler at the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. The flood of Japanese taking over has finally abated, and the NLWC is accepting American applicants once again! MNLWCGA!

Folkstyle on the brain syndrome: A dysfunction prevalent among NCAA folkstyle wrestling fans that manifests with delusions regarding Senior Men's Freestyle wrestlers from foreign countries. These unshakable beliefs, completely detached from reality, include the idea that Senior Men's Freestyle wrestlers, including world champions, from what may be considered currently the most dynamic national team, would interrupt their international careers to enroll in US universities and compete in D1 wrestling at the university level. Some of the more delusional patients, many of which also experience anxiety, depression or hallucinations, participate in bizarre discussions and debates regarding which universities these international wrestlers would attend. Ono isn't going to attend PSU, Iowa, or Oklahoma State. He is at the NLWC. It's a good experience for him. Otoguro isn't going to attend Iowa. He is at the Hawkeye Wrestling Club. These guys are students of wrestling. They love the sport. They see the visit to a top-tier US Wrestling Club as a growth and learning experience. Please seek professional help. -
184 result?

Go McCenelly! This should belong to the Gophers now! Sparks is a hammer!
-
Thanks for the updates. Things aren't looking good for the Gophers. They needed big bonus at 197 and heavy. They needed the decision at 125 and 133. It's looking out of reach.

Give him a real match against another freshman, one who DESTROYED Allred. I've got Max McEnelly over Angelo Ferrari or Gabe Arnold. It doesn't matter who Brands puts out there. I say put Angelo out there against Max McEnelly. He will have a better shot at the W.
