Who is the best wrestler from your state?

It's slim pickings - maybe Leon Rattigan - or eventually my own daughter -

you're not a big fan of Treasure Island? Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

Just saw the Pinto vs Truax match. Got to love the PA guy kicking the ass of his homestate. Pinto is too powerful for Truax.
-
I'm finally getting around to seeing the 141 match. The Penn State referee bias is now at an elite level. It makes me as a fan root against them as much as possible. Hardy won the match

I just want to circle back to this comment to give a more thorough explanation. The loss to Forrest counts against him for sure, but more than that- is the lack of matches against D1 starters (which seems to have been by design to preserve his redshirt). But it just means he has had fewer opportunities to face top rated d1 starters than many of his untethered peers -
If Burwick is in a position to graduate early, maybe he would be a good replacement as coach for the Badgers

Why was Messenbrink at Cal Baptist?
flyingcement replied to Hammerlock3's topic in College Wrestling
At one point, Cal Baptist had both Mesenbrink and MJ Gaitan committed. Gaitan flipped before joining, Mesenbrink jumped levels after committing and reassessed his future accordingly. -
Antrell Taylor is also a 157 lber wrestling up a weight class. He's a beast. I'm happy the were able to figure out the lineup where Robb, Taylor, and Bubba are all able to start. There was a thought of Pinto being at 174 at one point, but maybe that bridge has passed.

or maybe playing possum!

Caliendo looks tired

Should be an awesome dual.
-
Caliendo vs Hamiti - these are Illinois guys. They must have wrestled in high school.

It was worth it to see the angry Bono

That's awesome!!

It's time: Predict the 2024 125 pound NCAA champ
flyingcement replied to peanut's topic in College Wrestling
Even though you didn't ask me - I'll tell you what I've done in those situations. Wins against: high schoolers, other college divisions, backups, and redshirts - do not count at all for anything Losses against all of those same individuals count against them as much as they possibly could. -

I agree. I actually haven't spent much time thinking about an overall criteria like that. My rankings have been based on matches this year only and does not take into account momentum. It's only meant to be an input into an ultimate equation like @jmoney has laid out. I think it's a fun philosophical exercise to consider what that equation should look like -

You may be right - and I would bet the under in that case. Stanich, Flynn, Spratley, Volk, Provo, Surtin, Camacho, Noto, Poulin, Kaylor are ten guys outside the Big Ten with a solid chance of AAing. And others like Strickenberger, Ungar, Jordan, Molton, Terukina, who are outside shots. -
