  1. bruv where in england were you
  2. Well at least they got Agin right on the weight class and Blaze right on the caliber.
  3. I always wanted a tattoo, but was too much a perfectionist to figure out which one. As the years passed, I ultimately identified I was beyond the point of getting a tattoo without sending out a symbolic S.O.S to my people
  4. Incredible post. What a video! Ramos is humble as all hell - never gloats - speaks with class. And the notion of the losing wrester granting an interview for a situation like this makes me forgive a great bit of his forfeits after that match (not that it's up to me to forgive him)
  5. honestly its an idea I had when I was the subject of the potential misery, but thought not to argue it because it would be transparently in my favor instead of in the name of actual logic.
  6. Hey man - the tournament is the following week in case you were wondering
  7. This is a lost art, by the way. As a disagreeable person, I may be biased. This thread is inspired my interaction with a colleague with whom I never agree with on how to approach a situation. But what's awesome is that we maintain a complete level of respect of each other, have never personally attacked each other, and maintain a level of mature discourse. How long can you go without insulting the person you're arguing with? Hopefully a figure that's in years instead of minutes. Virtually all political leaders have failed us in this regard. But we can be better. Please share your own personally story.
  8. brother you're too kind. I just checked with the missus and she reminded me we took the red eye which means - its a great time afterall! We arrive back home at lunch time. False alarm.
  9. That time works best for me given the circumstances. It's my sister's wedding weekend, and I'm flying home that Sunday which means if I have wi-fi I'm all good. If wifi acts up, I guess you can keep my 20 dollars and give me the 33rd seed in every weight class.
  10. @ILLINIWrestlingBlog, better yet, let's add Jombo as a new reaction option!
  11. The crazy thing about Shawver's improvement is that it comes after he was significantly injured last season AND he is bumping up a weight class. And after all the drama of the wrestleoff with Peterson, Shawver is likely to score more points at nationals at the next weight up. It's a cool story and while I don't have any affiliation with Rutgers or Shawver personally, he's been one of my favorite stories of this year.
  12. This went over my head. What does it mean? Is it that they didn't have very different opinions after all?
  13. @ILLINIWrestlingBlog 2025 should look something like this? 125: Joey Ruzic 3x Illinois 1A state champ 133: Lucas Byrd 141: Danny Pucino 149: Kannon Webster 157: Joe Roberts 165: Dan Braunagel 174: Edmond Ruth 184: Dylan Connell 197: Zach Braunagel 285: Luke Luffman
  14. 125: Nico Provo 133: Dylan Shawver 141: Jordan Titus 149: Michael Cetta 157: Michael Blockhus 165: Caleb Fish 174: Gaven Sax 184: Sam Wolf 197: Zach Glazier 285: Yonger Bastida
  15. Ruth and Welsh will be another good smashfest. Handfighting for seven minutes
  16. In elementary school, Sammy Sasso was JV to Jarred Papcsy
  17. Here is my theory as of now, especially since he also did it last year. Brands disagrees with the rule, and believes he has a chance to make the committee look like fools for imposing it. Eventually, Brands would like to be able to take advantage of mixing and matching and mixing signals on who is going where - because as a top five program they typically have the depth where they do have some decisions to make. Maybe I've given him too much credit. But if Teske upsets Bouzakis right off the scale, Brands can bank on having Tom Ryan and the boys from Columbus on his side for changing the rule
  18. I'm starting to get curious then - surely Brands knew this. It would seem counter-productive to do something like this intentionally. So then why.
  19. must have something to do with match count or another factor I haven't considered
  20. Michael Spangler out and Blaine Frazier in for Indiana? Spangler must be hurt or something because he seemed to be clearly better than Frazier
  21. The way they listed it made it seem like Teske would be seeded last for some reason - any color on that?
  22. Good explanation. I suppose that in an ideal world you could ask each seed - starting with the first - whether they want the bye- and then go down the list. But it would be a logistical nightmare and so the rotating seeds seems like a far more practical solution. Thanks for clearing it up
