  1. If he went to Nebraska to coach after Manning, they'd be my new favorite team. I would like to see James Green head coach there some day if Burroughs doesn't go for it
  2. I think it could be a decent match-up for a couple of reasons. 1. Mendez has athleticism that is probably worse but close to RBY 2. Mendez opens up more than RBY in terms of attempting to create offense 3. First time facing each other. Mendez will have been preparing for this match all year. RBY probably never even considered the existence of Mendez until the match was approaching. 4. Dual is in Columbus where they may receive some small benefit of the doubt from the ref if RBY tries for any stalling tactics and fans get wild. 5. Mendez has a very wide variety of offensive attacks and doesn't need to operate from one position or cheese a particular set of moves. He is beatable in a match by any guy but he is not solvable like DeSanto. Obviously RBY is the favorite but I enoyed making this prediction
  3. Dude I hope you've been searching through your favorite Lizak pics
  4. Lots of places could use him. Not many places that couldn't. The only unlikely destination would be Wisconsin, as funny as it sounds. Based on the Bono and Askren beef. I think only Josh Otto went from Askren Academy to Wisconsin of the current team.
  5. In my memory it was a personally guaranteed win with the most likely outcome being a least a major
  6. I joined after that period, but I definitely would have been on that side I was more well known for Hamiti over Marinelli - not just a win, but likely bonus
  7. Today I saw some news that Reece Witcraft had completed his descent down to 125 to fill in. Is this a very serious injury he has? I don't think I ever heard what the ailment was
  8. Haven't heard if he did make his choice. Missouri seems like a possibility based on Team Askren influence
  9. Okay if RBY wins, I'll change my avatar for one month to a picture of your choosing if Mendez wins, you have to change to your avatar to any picture of Ethan Lizak (also for a month)
  10. "terrible food - great service!"
  11. I personally interpreted the irredeemable comment as mostly hyperbole from someone who did not approve of the wrestler's behavior. I don't interpret many things literally other than lists of ingredients and box scores. Even dictionaries are just suggestive :)
  12. sooo. how about Casey Swiderski giving Carter Young a triple donkey kick? this is me trying to diffuse
  13. Reflecting on the thread subject, I thought about what the dirtiest things that I ever did. Mostly some headbutting against those I didn't really like from the tie up position. That one was pretty common from others too. One that was a little less common, and would give me a good callous on the bottom of my chin, was just digging my chin deeply into the opponents back and spine to cause him to squirm. Taught to me by a sadistic assistant coach when growing up. Last year, the "dirty wrestler" of the year seemed to be Mantanona and his strangle move. Zahid also used that in world team trials.
  14. I definitely will at some point. I may even be able to convince my wife to join me, but we'll see
  15. The trailer looked pretty good. I like an underdog story.
  16. of course he does - how convenient lol

  18. I'm excited for it. Anyone else?
  19. I think Glory will go 125 against Cornell and 133 against Iowa. He seems like the ultra-duck. I hope I'm wrong
  20. I think Blockhus, while still an underdog, has it within him to take down Murin this time. He's 0-3 against him, but each match has gotten closer.

  22. I was having a hard time exactly filtering through wrestlestat to see who had wrestled the most matches. But here are a couple guys that stood out to me in my search. Let me know of any others. Following three have 30 or more matches against D1 competition so far Tommy Askey, Appalachian State - 33 matches wrestled against D1 wrestlers so far this year at 22-11 Kurt Phipps, Bucknell - 31 matches wrestled against D1 wrestlers this year at 21-8 Tyler Stoltzfus, Lock Haven - 30 matches wrestled against D1 wrestlers this year at 21-9
  23. Lee - 1st Teske - 1-2 Woods - 2nd Murin - 7th Siebrecht - R16 Kennedy - 7th Brands - R16 Assad - R12 Warner - 5th Cassioppi - 3rd
  24. They also lost to California Baptist!! @Idahowhat's the word around the campfire
  25. I should apologize here and now for wrongfully predicting Indiana would be at the bottom of the Big10 this year but they have beaten both Maryland and Purdue. Maryland has beaten Pitt who has beaten Virginia Tech for the sake of comparison
