It would be beyond hilarious if Alvarez first of all, GOT the medical redshirt he is apparently owed, and then lost his starting spot to Jordan Williams AGAIN.
Jersey, and I am pretty sure Burroughs is already opening clubs near his hometown of Winslow.
While there is a wealth of talent from here, the runner-ups for this category would be Ashnault or Suriano, but I honestly could not see either going that route.
Interested a lot by this one. He seemed pretty content with how his career played out after AA'ing. Wondering if he can realistically keep the momentum up to repeat with age and weight cut issues lingering.
My brain is truly dead this morning because I cannot think of anything else to say beyond it's funny that Bo lost and Mineo spent an entire day crashing out on Iowa fans for the sake of someone who probably wouldn't look his way in public.
Sort of took me by surprise for a second. Vinnie was very good in high school; 4-time state placer who was stuck behind Dean Peterson for almost all of his career. Finally won it as a senior when Peterson got surgery and was out for the season. Guess it doesn't pan out for everyone at the D1 level. I hope he finishes his career on a high note at D3!
I don't doubt either on a technical level honestly. It just has to do with size currently. Can Gibson make the cut down? He swears he can via X, but how will he look once he gets there?
Smith came into RU very small. He just needs some muscle packed on.
RUTGERS - FINAL(???) UPDATE
125: Smith/Gibson (This will be the black hole weight this year)
133: Shawver
141: Olivieri
149: Clark
157: Harer
165: Barbosa
174: Pinto
184: SCW
197: Cotton
285: Catka
Things look brighter than they were a month ago, but I will temper my expectations for now. Good dual team, but I have no clue who I see AAing in this crew come March. Shawver could have the fire to come back after a disappointing 2025. Catka and Pinto just need to put one good tournament together. SCW and Olivieri showed they have some fight in them. This is a team that has just as high of a chance at getting 0 AAs as they do at getting 4-5. We shall see...
Nick and I were on the same club wrestling team in college. Great guy; great behind the mic for Rutgers. Happy to see him get his flowers from the community.
I notice a lot of us are regularly wasting our days away grumbling about wrestling on here. Has me curious as to what you guys all do for work.
I'll start - I work for a non-profit in the daytime and do security work at a bar a few nights a week.
He has a redshirt, so I would not be surprised if that's what he ends up doing.
I could see him doing this too. There's something about these RU guys doing what's best for them once they leave New Brunswick. Sammy Alvarez actually managed to not miss weight at Rider after being known almost exclusively for that at RU.
