BoJob Nickal, as I have affectionately called him for years, will have his day of humbling/humiliation. I don't worry about that. This is kind of the part that always rubs me the wrong way with these Penn State guys though. What becomes of the likes of Starocci and Brooks who take their cues from Bo and his generation of guys in the program? How does that spill over into the next crop when more of these guys stick around the program? ugh.

Who you calling, the Athletic Departments?

On another point - I am thinking it's just time to suck it up and grab a ticket for one session. This will be my first time attending. Is there any one particular session that is the best one to see for a first year attendee?

Starocci by decision, 2-0.

Tom has Ferrari working for the Tournament now

Honestly gonna give this troll a 5/10. I got a solid chuckle out of it. -
I've always just thought that some kids knew it was over in that time frame and there's general nerves/they don't think the consequences to their actions will have a quick enough turnaround before the season ends. It is such a shame, because they won't know how much they would love to have another chance to step back out on the mat until they can't.

A respectable best/worst choice moment. My personal fav has to be from a few weeks ago when they all were wiping their fishy leader's tears away because Kasak's family didn't like him spreading an AI-generated article around that group, so they didn't let up on posting about how good he's been to the kid throughout his career until mom issued a pity apology. Real purveyors of class in that group.

This story got so big that my dad, who still has no idea what a tech fall is after seeing over a decade's worth of matches, texted me about it. I feel for Knox as a Shore Conference expat and a fan of seeing history being made, but actions have consequences (which Anthony has seemed to acknowledge in his IG post). That being said, the reaction on both ends of it is frankly disgusting. That little story time group of kids from District 25 is undoubtedly cringe (like any of them wouldn't piss their pants if they saw Knox in public at this point), but Minnow's cult group glazing him to ungodly levels ain't much better. I guess I shouldn't expect much coming from a guy who calls Focus a "class act" and only wants rules applied to wrestlers that won't benefit his social capital in the sport. Kid ain't a hero, and I doubt he would be treated as much if his skillset on the mat wasn't as good as it is. I hope the best for Knox in college. It would be a shame if this was the beginning of a descent and not just a footnote in a tremendous career.

Who actually could beat Steveson this year?
BloodRound replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
He's upholding the pillar of old school heavyweight wrestling on the national level almost singlehandedly at this point. What happens when he's done? -
If Starocci were to lose, what type of social media post is he making about it?

This is probably the most accurate answer there is. The Fast Twitch defense is undeniably great, but I can't see it getting him past a Buchanan or Barr type when they have been competing more consistently in the last 3 years. His best hope for making the finals would be for those two to be opposite his side of the bracket.

Posts that didn't age well.

I'm glad the danger rule came into play to save us from the nightmare that would have been watching a third Dean Heil final.

Any chance Arnold actually wrestles Plott?
BloodRound replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Yeah but at the same time, how confident could he be feeling like he is not the guy the Brands want out there in a big match situation like this? You already saw his reaction to when Angelo took the mat for Penn State. -

This one had me thinking during my whole commute to work today. I first of all can't believe Schultz has to cut that much weight to make heavy at this point. But I can see him not making podium before I see him even having a chance to upset Steveson. He's going to tiebreakers with dudes in the mid-20 rankings. -
125: Spratley dec. Cruz 3-0 OSU 133: Ayala dec. Witcraft 3-3 TIED 141: Jamison dec. Schriever 6-3 OSU 149: Parco dec. Young 6-6 TIED 157: Teemer dec. Fish 9-6 IOWA 165: Caliendo dec. Amine 12-6 IOWA 174: Hamiti dec. Kennedy 12-9 IOWA 184: Plott dec. Ferrari 12-12 TIED 197: Buchanan dec. Surber 15-12 IOWA 285: Hendrickson fall. Keuter 16-15 OSU Most things are straightforward here. I felt a little embarrassed by how none of my upset picks for IOWA/MINNESOTA panned out last time, so I am not going with anything like Fish over Teemer. I think as stated before, bonus will matter here, and there are very few I would want handling that part of over Hendrickson. Iowa could also flat out steamroll OSU before it even gets to that point too. But wouldn't it be something if Taylor in his first year with the Cowboys shows the Brands up in this historic rivalry? I think it would!

After seeing the reaction to losing to McEnelly, I am curious to see how Gabe would've reacted to a beating from Starocci -
2026 race for 2nd and can we skip to 2027

The thread that haunts my dreams. -
My favorite list so far; really interesting picks that I would flat out not agree with! Guess that's the fun of it.

I forgot to post my Focus prediction; silly me. I think he makes it to the semis and then defaults out to 6th after losing.
