Haven't listened to this episode yet, but here's an example of all of the things GLP1s have shown promise for. I know there can be significant weight rebound if you go off Ozempic, but I wonder about it's use in some of these others. Like if you use it to abstain from recreational drug use for a year, will you be able to stay off those if you go off a GLP1? Certainly it seems to me like the effect could be more durable since cocaine is more optional than food.

As with weight loss from just diet, I think you have to be careful that you maintain muscle mass and I wouldn't be surprised about bone density as well. A quick search found this: The researchers found that people who took a GLP-1 receptor agonist had reduced hip and spine bone mineral density when they didn’t exercise, compared to people who took a placebo or just exercised. “These findings suggest that the addition of exercise to GLP-1 RA treatment is an effective weight loss strategy while preserving bone health,” the researchers wrote. The time period was the previous administration. It looks like there were lots of arrests happening before. I would imagine 2024 data is not complete on this chart.

4/5 were arrested under the previous administration and 2 by local law enforcement. I imagine being part of an international gang with operations in a number of states aids your ability to avoid capture.

Of the 6 in the video, it looks like 1 was arrested in Aurora in September by Aurora PD, 2 by DHS in NYC in November, 1 in Aurora in December by Aurora PD, and now this guy in NYC by DHS. 1 remains at large.

From what I can tell, the 300K number comes from an Inspector General Report in 2024. It appears, to me, that what happened was a lot of unaccompanied minors were released to sponsors in the US without a scheduled court date. So they are living in the US but are not working their way through any kind of process to either become a permanent resident or be deported. YMMV on how much difference you see between "missing" and "unmonitored" in this context. "Located" also seems pretty ambiguous. I can't find much on this beyond the TV hit that Faulkner did stating Tom Homan told her as much. How are they defining it? Based on how I interpret the IG report, "located" could mean we sent a notice to appear to the address given when they were released. It could be something more than that. It is good these kids are being located and make their way through the system. Hopefully there are other reforms to improve communication between DHS and HHS to prevent the ball dropping like this in the future. 1. That reads to me like that would have had to have been granted prior to the ban going into effect 2. No progress toward a divestiture has been made with TikTok stating they would shut down before they sold.

If this is just calculated on Oracle being on the hook for everyone with it installed in the US, they're already facing a fine in the billions after one day.

Looks like Oracle is trusting Trump that they won't be subject to the fines associated with the law, but Apple and Google are not. They have not restored the app to their app stores. Tom Cotton has assured them Trump doesn't have the authority to do what he says and they will be subject to the fines.
