Was not expecting us to take 165 or 174, let alone both. Good showing from the Gophs so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
This debate is as tired as it can get, but just switch to freestyle. Don’t waste time trying new rules in folkstyle. Make the switch to what the rest of the world does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Call it - upset of the night for Iowa vs PSU

Bartlett over Woods in a tight one. Possibly ride outs. Don’t think there’s more than 1 takedown scored. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The Big One: ILLINOIS versus Minnesota

As a typically-optimistic gopher fan I am feeling oddly pessimistic about this one. Also don’t think we see Nagao. But would be very happy if we did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I wouldn’t mind this lineup at all, and I think it’s possibly our best dual lineup, but Vance Vombaur will likely be a factor at 141 or 149 (he started a couple times this year, and one was a convincing win over Clay Carlson of SDSU). I also think McKee will try his damndest to stay at 125 and capitalize on a weight class finally vacated by Spencer Lee, and Nagao is too small for 141 as of now. I think Spratley rides the bench one more year. Drew Roberts could factor in at 149 as well. Need a transfer at 174, badly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gophers have three legit shots at AA right now, and Brayton Lee and Jake Bergeland aren’t any of them. It’s McKee, Nagao, and Salazar. Minnesota is a team made up of a bunch of guys that could place anywhere from 7th to going 2-2. Solid wrestlers, solid dual team, but no contenders. Some of our young guys and recruits coming in give me hope for the future though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Troy Spratley is off redshirt? News to me. Pretty sure he’s redshirting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Allred looked tiny next to Warner. That guy needs to be a 184. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is wrong with the bow and arrow? Lol I just think it’s lame to pile on the 1-2 guys that make predictions. Make more predictions! They’re fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agree. Shouldn’t be able to crap on predictions without putting out your own. Pretty lame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lol I’m sorry it’s not meant to upset anyone I’m just confused about the hype. Did he win some big offseason tournament I’m not aware of? Idk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Owen Pentz NDSU is capable of pinning anybody at anytime. Not sure if he’s a potential finalist, but if I was a high seed that had him in the quarters I’d be nervous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally I am surprised at all the buzz that Burwick’s transfer has received. He’s had one full season above .500 and that was his redshirt year where most of his wins came against D2, D3 or NAIA wrestlers. His most impressive win this year has got to be Jore Volk, who is a true freshman 125 that wrestled up. Before that, you could argue his highest ranked win in his college career was against his now-teammate Boo Dryden. Unless I am missing something huge, which is possible because I haven’t followed him closely just looking at wrestlestat, I don’t see him as a difference maker? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t think he’s capable of getting to that tier yet. Lucky for him, 184 is one of those rare weights where the top 5-8 doesn’t have near as many Big-Ten wrestlers. If he’s able to take advantage of that and place high (I think he could place as high as 2nd) in the Big Tens, he could earn himself a favorable seed at NCAA’s. I want to see him wrestle Abe Assad, Finesilver, Romero, and Pinto again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just want to say I think it’s great for the sport that we have more than one ranking service that is widely recognized, especially so that they have different methods of deciding on their rankings. It allows people to make their own interpretations while also having multiple reference points. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Minnesota has certainly unperformed, but I think part of the drop was them being ranked too highly in the first place. Brayton Lee being ranked as high as 1st while coming off a near-total reconstruction of his elbow, and Bergeland being ranked as high as 3rd after riding an incredible run at NCAA’s last year really inflated their team ranking. Ultimately, I don’t think they’ll finish as low as 19th, but if they outperform that it’ll be because some of their lesser known guys (Aaron Nagao, Isaiah Salazar in particular) make a bigger impact than expected in March. Also need Pat McKee to do Pat McKee things in a tournament setting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am glad I did not have to ref that match. A lot of exchanges that were very close. Fortunately for fans, I imagine we’ll get to watch these two wrestle many more times in their college careers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

After last night, the top spot at 141 is a fight between Hardy, Woods, and Alirez imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

184 incredible match. They will wrestle each other quite a bit me thinks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
