  1. I am not sure how to answer this. Richison wanted Coleman Scott as the next HC, and he wanted Maple, and a few others considered. Leonard thought Koll was a slam dunk, so they blew everyone else off. Koll came in and did loved OU, but was not thrilled with the donors. Then Leonard brought Nickerson in, same result. Richison finally say F this, I will take my money to OSU. Richison graduated from UCO, and their facitlies are nicer than any facilties in the state (better than OU and OSU) I imagine OSU will have better facitlies in a few years with what DT is doing.
  2. I swear, I feel like I am talking to my wife right now. So, you are saying tradition does not matter? Do I say Iowa would argue with that? Iowa State, you prolly know way more about Iowa State than me. Did you know one of the first moves Dresser made was asking Nate Carr to come in and run the RTC? Remind me, where did he go to college? The first thing Dresser did, was acknowledge the alumni and the tradition of Iowa State. He didn't try to Virgiina Tech---Iowa State. Where is David Carr right now? What title does he have at Iowa State? OU has brought in 3 coaches that had no ties to the Oklahoma tradition, and my point is, look where that got the program. Kish is living and dying by the portal. He could have a true Sophmore AA right now, if he wasnt completely ***I am an idiot and can't use a better adjective***ed and F the recruitment of Fugitt up. Oklahoma State. Who was their HC for decades? Where did he wrestle college at? How successful where they for decades? If OU hired a Burroughs or, Dake, I would say Great hire and you do not need to bring in folks that have OU ties, but Kish aint it.
  3. hell you are answering all your own questions bud. OU has not been good since Cody, that was the last champ and the last time we were relevant and he was not great. MONEY IS EVERYTHING, that is why DT is at OSU, MONEY. Richison wanted to be involved in the coach search, that is what he wanted in return. Coleman Scott was a name, Kendric was a name that I know he was hoping OU would talk to. OU has a great tradition historically. And you are right, you are not on the inside, so you don't know. Lou and Kish, neither one has brought alums back and asked for them to be part of anything. You got to talk tradition, and piece those guys back into the program. National Qualifers are not the bar, that won't cut it. You have to get placers. That starts with coaches, and keeping interest in the program. Cody Brewer, no contact, Kendric Maple, contact last minute, Jared Patterson, completely F'd by Kish, asked to interview for the controls job that was given to the Mark Hall, and they didn't even have the common courtesy to call Patterson back to tell him they went with Hall. Zan Fugitt, was OU though and through, Kish NEVER CALLED HIM, and that is why he portaled and even then Kish tried to pull BS with him to make him stay. OU needs a big name and then back it with some alums, if they are ever going to be relevant again. I don't think OU has it in them to make a hard run, as I stated, I would no be shocked to see that program fold.
  4. Chad Richison was one of the biggest donors OU had, and Jason Leonard ran him off. Jason Leonard was also the driver of these dumba$$ hires. MANY wanted Coleman Scott, but that was shot down becase Leonard didn't want a coach from "that side of the state" coaching OU. DUMB. He was the driver of the LOU hire. The last two hires, Lou and Kish did not embrace ANY of the OU history or the alum. Lou sucked, I could not stand that dude. Kish has so much arrogance, he is going to fail because of that. Big ol goofy bastard. Look at what OSU is doing, buidling staff on top of staff. I feel like there are no egos. Teyon Ware has done more than any staff member, but you can see Kish wants to be front and center, he won;t let Teyon take the lead. IF Kish don't get a handfull of qualifiers this year, he is gone.
  5. OU is desperate. Donors are not happy with Kish, and many want to go a different route. OU majorly F'd up when they pissed Chad Richison off (paycom). I would not be shocked one bit if AJ ends up at OU. I believe Kish would sell his soul right now.
  6. Rumor on the street was, Koll was not excited about having him, but big donors wanted him and pony'd up the cash.
  7. Wiley was looking hard at UCO but long time friend Bam West is the starter at 149 and he didn't want to go in and compete there.
  8. Vasquez to Cal Baptist, my prediction.
  9. Ware left because they didn't get along, Ware felt he deserved a "bigger role" at Wyoming. Buchanon left because him and Ware were tight, and OU could pay him a little money. Branch is not necessarily a d*ck, but he is hard to get along with, AND Wyoming doesn't have a ton of NIL money. Branch does pretty good recruiting, what what he has, but hard to keep them with NIL.
  10. good kids for most programs, those kids would not see the mat at OSU. That is not a knock, on them, not many kids do.
  11. who yanked your chain? I asked a question, Mr. White Knight
  12. Yeah, right dude. So, you come on here, hey I heard something. Then nothing else? And you said something about attention whore? It has nothing to do with Cartoon Characters. What is wrong with saying, I heard a RUMOR. Let me repeat, no facts behind this, just a Rumor. I heard XYZ and it came from that jackass minnow and Paliciao, two idiots that beg for attention. I hope it is not true, but this is what I heard....Do you think coming on here and doing what you did is better than that? It is a F'g wrestling forum. You don't have to START RUMORS, I get wanting to state facts, but if facts were that important, then don't post ANYTHING. MOST people that are in the wrestling community heard this yesterday, just like you did.
  13. There was for sure talk that they were coming to Iowa State. We were on the same visit as Kyler, Meza, and Castillo. It for sure was his second choice but they want (ed) to follow in Dad's footsteps at ASU. Side Note: That recruiting visit was off the chain with the talent there. Lockett, Larkin, Routledge on and on. If Iowa State could have got 1/2 those guys, man oh man.
  14. Dang buddy, it is not like there were hookers and cocaine discussed here. If this were an act of something that would be frowned upon besides a stick in the mud like yourself, I could understand. Our Reno trips were f'g legendary. There were several trips that we stayed up all night playing craps, and then coached the next day. Go take a nap.
  15. if you did, you would know I have a 100 stories like this about me. ALL of us, there was a group of about 12-15 Dads that loved Super 32's etc. There are dads on here right now that know me, that would say the same.
  16. I know his Dad, decent guy, loud mouth while he was wrestling. He was a staple at national tourneys and dual teams, because you could always hear his Dad yelling "come on Braeden!" not knocking him, hell I was prolly louder than him. Dad's would also go to the bars and have beverages while the kids slept, most of us would go. His Dad was legendary. When we went to Reno, We all had beers and then I called it around midnight. Next morning, we had our flight around 11:00 AM, and we were leaving around 9:00 AM. We had to go by the Reno Casino Bar, and his pops was still at it, never went to bed. My kid said, that is amazing....lol. Again, I am not judging, I could and still can throw em back, but I am old and Midnight is pressing it for me.
  17. Studs, Dad is a solid mofo too.
  18. What do you guys think Penn St will do? I believe kids will be kids, and as long as he keeps his nose clean, he should run and be done with it. Do you think Penn St will let this slide? Again, most universities would, but I feel like many people put PSU on this pedestal, which is why I am asking.
  19. I did not know this, this is a shocker. BUT, I was told 2 years ago that Smith was going to retire and Maple was the HC in waiting. This was all during the OU HC job search. Now, maybe that is still going to happen, but I think Maple would be a great HC and I could not be that patient.
  20. Is this a shock to anyone? I only know the brother, so I do not know how good this one is.
  21. Rumor has it that Kish and staff have been pulling some BS with these guys. NIL deals not followed through on, scholly's not followed through on. Wiley and McDougal both bailing because of some slimy stuff on Kish's part. Tate should go to UCO and try to AA IMO, he has not panned out. Great kid, but just not a D1 guy IMO.
  22. The hiring of Kish is why Richison's money left for OSU. That money is the sole reason DT is at OSU right now. Kish vs Rosselli is a wash. Lou sucked too. He tied for the big 12 title, which kept him for another year, but he didn't recruit local and at the time, Oklahoma had some top kids he didn't even call. Cam Steed was one of them he didn't even consider. Now, on the flip side Lou had Zan Fugitt committed. Kish comes on board and would not return Daddy Fugitts call. Dad wanted to know what was going on and he never called him back. Zan was loyal as heck to them too. I know for a fact OSU called him and wanted him to flip and he would not do it. Finally Zan said screw it, and asked to be released from commitment and they fought him. Long of a short, I heard OU recently reached out and offered a bag for him to leave Wisconsin, you can only imagine what he said. Kish has recruited well, we will see where this class ends up. Lots of local talent on there. The worst part, OU could have had Coleman Scott, and/or Maple, both asked to be considered and they got zero consideration. I never thought I would say this, but I would not be surprised if OU ended up bailing on that program. It is not a priority anymore. If I were the AD at OU, I would go after a big name, but if that was not in the cards, I would chase Maple, Andrew Howe, Brewer, and maybe a big guy or a Jared Patterson. ALL can coach, ALL can recruit, ALL have ties to OU.
  23. He's a gawd d*mn smart man, turns out it was all BS!
