  1. Does Social = open bar? Sounds promising . . .
  2. Haha! I liked your post (well, Bob Doled it). To be fair, I'm not sure he was actually referring to your post. That said, I've made 134 terrible posts (and counting)...I just keep coming back and this forum just keeps putting up with me!
  3. Crazy to think that this was the first post of this thread: If true: dirty, dirty, dirty. ...and here we are now!
  4. Dude just got teched in 45 seconds in European U20 semis...2-on-1 drag by then laced. Didn't really get the chance to see what he had (first time seeing him). He did kinda look like the wrestling version of Kramer tho.
  5. You need to push your computer harder . . . it's not smoking yet!
  6. Couple of Minnesota guys maybe- Mike Kroells or Sonny Yohn??
  7. With all due respect, I'd like an explanation too- I don't exactly get it. Also, I'm terrible at my job!
  8. The last one was tough...but like a true underdog, I pushed through and wasn't going to be denied (the hints helped)! Verlyn Strellner, Iowa, 1969. Beat Ed Bannat (8) from Navy in R1, Charles Shivers (1) Oklahoma in Quarters, Lost to Chuck Jean (4), Iowa State in Semis. Verlyn then managed to avoid the let down on the front side and Proceeded to beat John Sorchinsky (5) from BYU in the consi semis. Wrapping up his 3rd place finish, he beat Ken Bos (2) from Cal Poly. Quite a run! I love this kind of trivia, and a lot of these names I haven't heard in a long time, so it's nostalgic . . . but it took up 2 hours of my weekend/morning!
  9. Hate to say it but I saw this coming back in 2018. We were at World Championships in Budapest heading to our hotel from the event about 10pm and saw Aaron Brooks ahead of us. At that time, he had committed to PSU but was still out in Colorado Springs. He jumped the turnstile to the Subway without paying (when he thought nobody was watching). I turned to my brother and said, "Now there's a dude who will have no problem using PEDs." For the record, we would have jumped it too, but our fat a$$es would have ended up on an Insta bloopers reel so we paid.
  10. Oh, Gotcha! So bottom half of bracket is 17-31 seeds- that's what you meant! lol!
  11. Brock Hardy? 2024 NCAAs? He beat 4 guys ranked in the top 8 and took 3rd but is probably remembered more for getting spladled. *sigh
  12. We can conclude that this 17-year-old freshman accuser wasn't held back a year for athletic reasons
  13. That's a pretty good article- thanks for sharing! What kid keeps over $1000 worth of stuff in their school athletic locker?
  14. How do you know that it was not Snyder who requested not to be interviewed and USA Wrestling simply acquiesced (I learned that word from Pirates of the Carribean) his request?
  15. Sounds like Russia's Mamedov at 65kg won't be wrestling due to injury, which is unfortunate- I had him making the finals with a good shot of beating Kiyooka and beating Amouzad (as he did before at worlds). Whoever Russia sends now (maybe Ibragimov) will be competitive in the bracket and still beat Real Woods so no change from predictions above.
  16. If you're hungry for the inside scoop and unique insights around the Bassett situation...you can go ahead and skip today's FloWrestling Radio Live (FRL). I sat (suffered) through it, so you don't have to...45 minutes of pure conjecture. I'll never take this forum for granted again.
  17. "What kind of whore?" ~Kyle Snyder
  18. Update above in RED:
  19. Tangentially (sort of), I can't help but think the ultimate hold back is Keith Richards (no, not that Keith Richards). Keith Richards won a state title as a junior in Oklahoma in 1991. He moved to CA for his senior year where he would lose in the finals at sections (tournament before state) to Casey Strand (anybody remember him? 2x AA for Arizona St). Anyway, Keith got his revenge two weeks later at state by beating Strand in the finals and winning a state championship in CA too as a senior, at the tender age of 17. He was then held back before entering college for 15 years, before finally enrolling in 2006 at Central Oklahoma (and wrestling) at the held-back age of 32. By that time, he had definitely matured. 20. Breakdown is great- thank you! Are you going to do an Iran/USA one too? Here's what I'm thinking: 57kg - Mongush (from southern Siberia- I call him Nacho Mongoose) has steadily ascended but Spencer too much horsepower. As an aside, it is mindboggling how big Russia (still) is. 1-0 USA 61kg - I'm picking Arujao (over both Forrest and Aguev). If Forrest beats Arujao, I think Aguev beats Forrest- too much experience and I'm a sucker for a super duck. 2-0 USA (Arujao), 1-1 (Forrest) 65kg - Mamedov is very good...too good. Real's benefit of being unknown internationally doesn't help him here. 2-1 USA (Arujao), 1-2 Russia (Forrest) 70kg - This is Baev's weight until someone beats him. Not PJ Duke this time around. 2-2 (Arujao), 1-3 Russia (Forrest) 74kg - I heard Sidakov was going to miss, but he looks just fine on social media; I expect him to wrestle. Russia has lost so many good guys at this weight to other countries, but no matter who they send, likely still beat Carr. His match with Salkazanov was telling as to where he's at internationally (although I'm still picking him for Bronze). 2-3 Russia (Arujao), 1-4 Russia (Forrest). 79kg - Haines has gotten a lot better and might surprise someone, but it won't be Usmanov 2-4 Russia (Arujao), 1-5 (Forrest). 86kg - Zahid's always good for 2 TDs (and apparently a turn if he transitions from a TD) per match. I think the Russians are high on Kadiev for good reason, but this is Zahid's weight to lose. 3-4 Russia (Arujao), 2-5 (Forrest). 92kg - I think Russia sends Bagaev. Trent is a very sneaky edge of mat wrestler- low center of gravity, neutralizes opponents with his underhook and his pressure will be the difference in 2nd period. 4-4 (Arujao), 3-5 (Forrest) 97kg - I've typed too much already- Sadulaev 4-5 Russia (Arujao), 3-6 Russia (Forrest) 125kg - I don't know who RUS sends here- it's kryptonite and crazy they haven't developed a good heavyweight in a decade. Hendrickson wins. 5-5 (Arujao), 4-6 Russia (Forrest). That settled nothing for me! haha!
  21. If true, this actually makes sense to me- I see it as a net benefit for both guys.
  22. Happy Father's Day! This is what my son got me (he's 11)- it's awesome! A little book with 50 pages of things. Page 3 on the list below! How cool is that!!!
  23. Thanks jross! I'm big on ideas- not so much on execution! This was a test run. Initially I thought about putting those under the blanks but then I realized I don't know the difference between nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, prepositions, etc. Thanks for the feedback! I'll refine it!
  24. Fine, I'll go first . . .
  25. Try it out- can use unlimited words in blanks. . .post your responses below.
