I def think Lockett beats both (my point being James/Denny would also fare well at worlds). I really want to see a James/Lockett match to see how James stacks up. Like I said, we're in good hands at 74kg!
-
I'm fine with either being our U20 rep (including finals). We're in good hands at 74kg.
-
Hard not to think the same thing . . . and he's age appropriate for a junior in high school!
-
I think they called him a Penn Stater . . .
-
He's put on a lot of muscle between since beginning last year. I still think he's going to Stanford- I don't think he follows his brother to OKST. I'm wrong a lot too, though.
-
I do like how they're running U20s straight through; I wish they would do that more often . . . I hate waiting around!
-
I never let facts get in the way of message board postings!

Desmond's decent- mine was more of a rebuke of Castillo, who seems to be seeded high all the time and hasn't won anything in like, 3 years. Baffling . . .
-
Doesn't James have Joe Sealey next round? Either way . . .
-
That's not an upset; not because Desmond is so good but because Castillo isn't.
-
Dude, how does Antonio Mills make 57kg?
-
very poor. Right call though. I really was hoping Starocci would go through as I think it's an easier matchup for Zahid, who I want to be our rep.
-
Agreed. But in my mind, these three are GOATS, along with Medved. I'd also make the case for Mustafa Dagistanli, Yasar Dogu, Ivan Yarygin, Anatoly Roschin, Mavlet Batirov, Besik Kudukhov, Bruce Baumgartner, and Kurt Angle. There's so many great ones!

is anyone else having problems with the split screen (2 mat) view? When I click on the second mat, it exits out of 2 mat view and onto one. I know better than to contact FLO customer support.
-
Barlett wins, but I think the score will be closer than the actual match, given that Barlett's not exactly an offensive juggernaut.

No Nick Lee @ 65?

74kg goes as Russians go...and there's plenty of Russians go to around (the globe). It'll be competitive.
-
That's what the Cortez twins (Cornell commits) had to do at Gilroy this last year because Moses Mendoza (great pickup for U of M) was there and beats both of them. Interestingly enough, all three above won 2025 state championships at their prospective weights.
-
As they should . . . I'm pretty high on Ramirez- I think he needs a RS year and to put on some muscle- but he's got a lot of ability. Also, Rocklin Zinkin (2026) committed and continues to improve (just beat Ignasio Villasenor for U17 3rd place and if not for one sequence, would have beaten Grey Burnett also) - it'll be crowded. For what it's worth, I'm partial to California kids sooo... (I'm pretty sure that came out wrong!)

I think PSU is also happy that their prestigious university has such a distinguished graduate who doesn't "know" the difference between "no" and "know" *sigh*

Both! I thought today was Monday so you can image how life goes for me!
-
oh, $hit- case and point!
-
You're right about all of it- worst match by far! haha! I should have mentioned, you should watch the other matches from this dude- against decent competition from Iran and India- needs to be taken as a full body of work. He's got a super duck and phenomenal counters. My first thought was- Penn State needs to recruit this guy for a year- there's precedent! Oh, and that's 8 minutes of your life you can't get back- that's probably on me. Sorry to start your Monday off like that!
-
This is super fun...just what I need on a Monday- another distraction from work that I suck at!!! Thanks @happyvalet

Zack Ryder's a good pickup for OKST! I went back and watched his U20 tournament and was also impressed with this Begenjov dude from Turkmenistan?!?! (don't hear that every day). Won U20s without giving up a point. His snap (fake slide by) to misdirection single @ 4:24 mark of video below is filthy! Have a look!
